And what does this mean for VY?

So Jeff Fisher is out. Is Vince Young out, too?

I know, the Titans said he won't return next season. Correction: Bud Adams said Young won't return next season, and last time I checked Adams was the guy signing the checks. But Adams made that decision after Young and Fisher had a showdown, and it sure seemed as if Adams sided with his head coach.

Well, now that head coach is out. So does that mean Vince Young can stay? Adams can always backtrack, and remember, this is the man who said, "VY is my guy," when the Titans drafted him. I suspect nothing changes, but if I were Vince Young I'd like to find out.

"I just wish coach Fisher had trusted me a little bit more," Young told the Tennessean after the decision was made.

Coach Fisher is no longer the head coach. Call Bud Adams, Vince. Maybe you've got a job back.

And what does this mean for VY?

OK Titans, let's draft a DT or LB in the first round and draft Colin Kaepernick as our future QB. He should be available in the 2nd or 3rd round.

And what does this mean for VY?

I want VY out of Tennessee, they don't deserve him.  For those that call him stupid, look at his comeback wins, look at his ability to win, you are no better judge of talent at a pig race than at NFL QB's.  Rusty stunk to high heaven and I am glad, it shut the mouths of those that thought he could do anything.  Collins can't do jack and VY held the team together and would win in a city that does not appreciate him, I hope he does leave, his success will be his reply.

And what does this mean for VY?

Vince "Gump" Young will never be a consistant QB in the NFL. The dude is just not very smart at all. He has incredible athletic ability but can't read a defense to save his life. Therefore, he won't work out running a NFL offense. Give me a smart, less athletic QB anyday over a very athletic QB with no brains. The Titans may bring him back (and as a Colts fan I certainly hope they do) but if they don't some other desperate team will take a chance on him and be severely dissappointed with the results. Not only is he not smart, but he is also very thin skinned and will pout and whine when somebody tries to discipline him.

And what does this mean for VY?

You people can moan and complain all you want about Vince Young, but the BOTTOM LINE is he had a passer rating of 98 this year which was 5th in the NFL and he has an excellent career winning percentage. Regardless of whether or not he scored a 6 or a 26 on the Wunderlik test, he has the stats and the winning pct of an ELITE NFL QB and he'll have plenty of opportunities to be a starter this coming season in the NFL. Quit the whining and the silly talk and just deal with it because all of you will just sound as ignorant about VY and you did about MV this past season. And you what I'm talking about. Some of you find it really fun to pick on QBs who aren't necessary "classic, drop back passers". Grow up.

And what does this mean for VY?

@baekayl
The Titans have defeated the Jaguars many times. They beat the Jaguars with VY, without him it does not matter. The Jaguars suck. Hell, I hope they keep Gerrard around for the next decade. I'll take VY over Gerrard any time.

And what does this mean for VY?

baekayl - VY's official Wonderlic scoreis 16, not great but the same as Dan Marino.  But there's more to the story than that. The day before the scores were released  there was a rumor that VY had scored a six which would have been one of the lowest scores ever.  However, when the results were released he had a 16. There are conflicting reports about whether the report of a score of six were accurate but then Titans GM Floyd Reese reported that VY had scored a six on his initial test but that the League gave him a retest where he wscored the 16.

And what does this mean for VY?

jmc4112 - The Titans weren't world beaters with VY but the reason that the record won't go away is that they've been doormats without him.  Over the past two years the Titans are 12 & 6 when he's started and 2 & 12 when he doesn't.  They may not have beaten many playoff teams with VY but they haven't been able to beat anybody without him.

And what does this mean for VY?

As a Jaguars fan, i sincerely hope Adams reverses his position and keeps Vince Young for the next decade.. 1 less team the Jags would have to worry about then..

And what does this mean for VY?

My little brother told me Houston became a big attraction for the Titan players the last few weeks, not a normal place for a bunch of Titan players to come in and stay a few days.  Here is what i believe, based on the knowledge my brother gave me and what I read from the players following the problem between Fisher and Young. The players are behind Vince Young, which is why so many made the trek to Houston to see Bud Adams and Bud Adams had to rethink things. Fisher had 1 year left on his contract, Young like 3 I think.  Fisher had allready let it be known he wanted his contract extended and he did not want VY around. Bud Adams is and will be a VY man and decided that since Fisher had 1 year left he was going to make Fisher play Young and get along with him if he wanted to keep his job and get that extention. Fisher balked and decided it was time to move on. I could be wrong but when the top players (my brother claims about 15 players came in during a 2 day span) including CJ and Collins show up in Houston to stay a day or two it sure seems they went to see Bud.  Like I said, I could be wrong but the players were behind Young and several have said Fisher did not try to make it easy on Young.  The big thing I saw in thier games was that Fisher curtailed what Young was allowed to run and even with Smith at QB tried to run a more open offense than he did with VY, very evident by the passing attempts.  I remember posting here on CBS about seeing the scolding Young got from Fisher for taking off and running, which happened quite often.  Fisher never tried playing to VY's strengths, allways trying to force him to be different. VY's best years were with Chow there running the offense, he tailored the offense around VY's skills. Fisher did not like seeing Young being successful and made it so Chow would leave. A control freak is what he is.
