Kolb talks still in the works

if there were a surprise Tuesday it's that the Philadelphia Eagles didn't make a move with backup quarterback Kevin Kolb.

But stay tuned. The Eagles and Arizona Cardinals continue to talk, with Cardinals' cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie the centerpiece of discussions. Philadelphia wants something more than Rodgers-Cromartie, and a second-round draft pick is what it the two seem to be talking about.

The deal isn't dead. Far from it. And most persons expect it to happen. But if Philadelphia can't get what it wants, don't be surprised to see the Eagles do nothing and keep Kolb another season. I know, it's a longshot, but it's a possibility.

Kolb talks still in the works

Guys, come on. When are you going to learn. You are Philly fans, that means you should know football. The reality is you are stupid enough to spend valuable time in your life processing and posting garbage about garbage. Wake up. DRC is not, and has not, ever been a part of trade talks with the Eagles. This is just stupid sportswriter fiction. You all should be smarter than them. The "reports" and "sources" these idiots generate are myths. Sure, it's fun to watch cartoons on Saturday morning but really, aren't you beyond that now? Obviously Kolb is a viable trade option for the Cards and it will likely get done, but don't believe for a second these morons know what they are talking about. I'm disappointing in you Eagles fans. Maybe you need to go back to cartoons to fill up that brain of yours. It has the same value as this garbage.

Kolb talks still in the works

I hear ya  man.  Right now, our defense shapes up as Cole, Dixon, Patterson/Bunkley, Jamar Freakin Chaney and Assante Samuel.  Graham and Allen are hurt.  I hope this rookie from Temple is the next Ed Reed or something.  Right now, we have 5 starters on defense.  I do not even want to mention how pathetic our offensive line is.  The thing that really ticks me off is how Banner went out on record 2 or 3 weeks before this all got finished and said how aggressive they were going to be to bring the best talent here.  Well I can tell you that OL's, DL's and some LB's are already signed.  If DRC falls through, they better pay the farm for J. Joseph.  If I have to sit through Joselio Hanson as my 2nd CB, it's going to be a nightmare.

To sum it up...the first 48 hours have been an F-.  Just an absolute nightmare so far.  A ton of holes to fill and I'm not sure they will be able to fill all of them.  Get Kolb outta here and then they need Ruud, another OLB, and a DE.  Ray Edwards is not the damn answer either.

Kolb talks still in the works

Classic "Brain Trust" at the Nova care complex. Take DRC for Kolb straight up.  Kolb is an average QB at best with a below average arm.  I saw him up close and personal last year at the Linc.  There was one play where he tried to "throw the ball away" and it was almost picked off near the sideline. Reid doesn't want to look foolish as he picked Kolb.  Hate to break it to you Andy but you have looked foolish for years. Make whatever deal you can and move on.

Kolb talks still in the works

Andy Reid and the eagles reportedly want a first round draft pick for kolb, or they are talking about drc and a second. Do I need to post Kolbs career stats in the NFL? Not to mention having to sign Kolb to a long term deal having shown nothing as a starter.  To me giving up either of those is too much. Let me explain.... Coach Ken Whisenhunt was quoted saying he thinks that orton and kolb are very close in skill set and what they can bring to our football team. That being said, why give up DRC and any pick if you can get orton for just a 3rd round pick? This is classic Andy Reid inflating the stock of Kolb to maximize what they get in return. I guess at the end of the day you cant blame him, that is his job. However, its our job to do the same thing, and if I had a say, I would let the Eagles sit on Kolb for another year just to teach them a lesson. We all know Kolb will leave Philly next year when he becomes a free agent, and then the Eagles will get nothing for Kolb. Its things like that that need to happen to get them to come back down to reality. The poll on the other day stated that 57% of cardinal fans didnt want to see the Kolb Drc trade. Please coach, Cards orginization, listen to us once!

Here is a trade offer I would make as a front office manager.......

Kevin Kolb for 1 bag of Arizona Cardinal footballs.

Yes he will be a great upgrade for us, but DRC and a sec is not to much to ask for Kolb. Go ahead Cards fans take Orton, and watch your season go down the tubes.
Short of us acquiring Peyton Manning, our season is going down the tubes no matter who is under center. So why make this deal?

Maybe I'd do DRC for Kolb and a second. Maybe. The draft pick needs to be coming Arizona's way in this deal.

Kolb talks still in the works

PhiEagles13 - that is the truest thing said here...what is going on inside the NOVA Center?  I could hope that they are just keeping a lid on "all their signings", however, with how big a mouth every NFL player has, and with their constant need to post on twitter (or is it tweet?), you would think that you would know if they were doing anything.  We are going to end up with a team of undrafted free agents this year it seems.  We need LBers, CBs, Linemen (on both sides of the ball).

I think Andy Reid is stuck in a bathroom stall at Chicky & Petes.

Pay the Eagles what he is worth and move on. Next year, you should have a pretty good team.
That would mean sending the Eagles a second-round pick...and nothing else. I'd be okay with that.

The Cardinals defense is miserable enough as it is;  take away DRC and they're pathetic.  I hope Kolb can put up 50 points a game, because if this goes through he'll probably have to if he wants to win.

Kolb talks still in the works

Meanwhile, since the Eagles are so wrapped up in this trade, if it falls through...not only do they keep Kolb but every top notch CB will be off the board.  They currently have 0 LB's that are worth a damn, except possibly Chaney but his tackling needs help.  They need another DE since Graham is hurt.  The OL needs major help since Vick almost got murdered last year.  There are a ton of holes that need to be filled and after hearing Banner wait and wait and how excited he was that the Eagles were going to be super busy, they have done nothing in the first 36 hours.  I might be the only Eagles fan up in arms right now, but they need to get on the train soon before it passes by....just like the past 45 years.
