Bad sign: Rodgers already having it his way

Aaron Rodgers is a terrific quarterback. He might be a better salesman.

It was the Packers' quarterback who earlier this summer spoke out about re-signing two of the team's key free agents, fullback John Kuhn and wide receiver James Jones, and it was the Packers' quarterback who on Sunday reiterated his position.

Only this time, the Packers followed through. They re-signed both, further strengthening a team that looks armed and dangerous for another Super Bowl run.

While Rodgers fully acknowledged it's not his job to act as an agent for teammates, he did explain why he felt compelled to speak out about the importance of retaining them.

"I am a leader on this football team," he said, "and my voice carries some weight in this locker room. You don’t get better by taking from the whole.  You need a guy like James Jones back. You need a guy like John Kuhn back. Solid locker room contributor; solid contributor on the field.  We need guys like that to win.

"I don’t make statements about that all the time unless I feel strongly about something them, and I feel very strongly that James Jones was an important part of this football team. And so was John Kuhn. And so was Daryn Colledge and Cullen Jenkins. I'm going to miss those guys, but it’s important for us to bring back those other two guys."

Apparently, management agreed.

Bad sign: Rodgers already having it his way

mhyb, no one wants your FACTS here.  The guy just outright said Rodgers was average and sucked against the blitz, and you promptly showed the numbers to prove he was talking our his rear.

Well, that's what haters do.  They talk out their rear.  They saw a QB lead his team to the Super Bowl win and....somehow chocked it up to luck or the refs giving them the title.

What's next, that the wind was at the Packer's backs the whole game?  Or that the Steelers had to walk from Pittsburgh to the stadium in 10 foot snow, uphill both ways.  Or that someone put 50lb weights in the Steelers' socks?  It's just ridiculous that people see what they want to see so they won't have to fact the truth:  Green Bay was the best team in the playoffs last year, their QB is already elite, and lastly, that haters will just keep on hating.

Bad sign: Rodgers already having it his way

DeathSquadlnc, Your post may have been the most asinine post I've ever read.  What is your football IQ?  Negaitive?  GB hardly got lucky.  This is a team that NEVER trailed by more than 7 points at any time ALL YEAR!!  That hasn't happened in 48 years! My own Patriots finished 14-2, yet lost those two games by 14 and 20.  They even lost to the dreaded Jets in the opening round of the playoffs after trailing by as many as 14 until the last 24 seconds of that game.  For Green Bay to have never trailed by more than 7 - especially with all their injuries - at any point in the season is amazing.  Absolutely no luck there.  Philly blitzed Rodgers' ass in both games played in between the teams last year, and Rodgers beat them both times - in Philly.  Overall in 2010, he had 16 TDs and 5 Ints against pressure of 5 or more men, and a passer rating of over 100.  Lucky?  No.  Again, no luck there, either.  Get off the hate box and respect greatness.  I'm able to worship Tom Brady and the Patriots and still have the ability to know Aaron Rodgers is far more than a decnt QB, and GB as a team is anyhting but lucky.  How ironic is a dude who supports the Niners - a team that GB beat 34-16 last year - telling everyone that GB was lucky.

Bad sign: Rodgers already having it his way

If Rodgers is a bad quarterback because he can't handle pressure, what is Jay Cutler?  Rodgers is infinitely superior to Cutler.  Rodgers has more weapons than Cutler.  Rodgers has a better offensive line than Cutler.  The Packers' D is better than Chicago's.  Face it, the only reason Chicago beat out Green Bay for the division last year. is because they stayed healthy and the Packers didn't.  The now-healthy Packers are taking the division and the Bears are going to miss the playoffs.  In fact, because of Minnesota's addition of McNabb and Detroit's offseason upgrades, it's very possible Chicago finishes last in the division.

Gotta love all the media suckin on Rodgers schlong.  No way they repeat this year....A-Rod is average when he has pressure on him..see Chicago games last year.....teams will put pressure and the pack will fall....look for the Lions to be a formidable opponent this year.....with the Bears winning the division.

The fact of the matter is the Packers and Aaron Rogers got lucky last season. The NFL handed the Super Bowl to Green Bay. Rogers is a decent QB, with average talent around him...Teams know now to just blitz his ass and he won't make a play. It makes me sick to see the Packers get media attention. Horrible franchise, horrible city and white trash fans....Weak.

Haterade much???

Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers don't even belong in the same sentence together. Alex Smith would be lucky if Rodgers asked him to carry and wash his jockstrap!!

The internet is a haven for trolls, but one this in certain:  If someone thinks Aaron Rodgers is no good, he or she knows nothing about football.  This should be a rule.
