Sorry, T.O., no welcome mat in Oakland

The Raiders signed T.J. Houshmandzadeh. They did not sign Terrell Owens. That should tell you what their new quarterback, Carson Palmer, thinks of his former teammates -- namely, that he feels comfortable with Houshmandzadeh where he does not with Owens.

The Bengals had Owens for one season, and all I know about his relationship with Palmer was that after one go-round with the guy Palmer wanted out of the Bengals. Oh, yeah, and he didn't want him following him to Oakland.

Houshmandzadeh is younger (34) than Owens (37) but not as fast, but what triggered this move was his reliability. OK, so he's coming off his worst pro season, but Palmer trusts him so much the two worked out together while Palmer waited on Cincinnati to make a move with him.

Palmer is in a new place with unfamiliar receivers, so he could use a security blanket. Houshmandzadeh is that blanket. The two played together for years in Cincinnati where Houshmandzadeh put up big numbers, so he can serve as a slot receiver for Palmer to lean on ... where he leaned on Owens for zilch.

This makes sense for two reasons: Palmer is comfortable with T.J., and he's not comfortable with T.O. Simple as that.

I don't think Palmer know's what is going on around him these days.  Oakland is going to finish 3rd in that division.

T.O.  The Chicago Rush offered you a job. Had you taken that, perhaps NFL teams would have taken that as a sign that you want to work. They could have gotten a gauge as to how healed you are physically (with contact) and mentally.  If you passed those tests, then maybe there would be some NFL interest in you.  Just a note to the media, I can only speak for myself, but I don't care about T.O., and suspect many more feel the same........ Don't give this clown anymore press. Let him earn his press by taking the ONLY job he was offered.

Anyone who thinks that adding Housh to the lineup is going to instantly bring back what Carson/Housh had in Cincinnati is seriously smoking something. First of all, Carson's arm is no better than it was last year. In fact, it hasn't been the same since prior to him injuring it in 2008. Carson is just plain and simple, an interception machine....36 ints. since 2009, to only 47 touchdowns. As for Housh, the biggest mistake he made was bolting Cincinnati for Seattle. He had one heck of a Pro Bowl Year, but that was due to Ocho Stinko being hurt in 2008. That year, Housh WAS the man for Cincinnati. But, reality set in, where he wasn't the same player in Seattle.

Long story short....Carson's not the answer in Oakland, and neither in Housh. Oakland fans, don't get your hopes up with these two.

Nobody ever notices that Housh also throws fits and pouts on the sidelines too!

Maybe T.O. should be a RB for the Browns. Wink

Afterall, Hillis is still out and they are down to a practice squad guy I believe.

Forget the "plague". Are you forgetting how old TO is? And don't bring up last year. He wasn't coming off ACL surgery last year. He's an old WR with questionable health. That's why he isn't getting signed.
