Broncos going to playoffs

The Denver Broncos are going to the playoffs.

With Sunday's dramatic overtime victory, the Broncos are in sole possession of first place in the AFC West with three weeks left and on track for a playoff spot. Two of their last three gamea are home, and their only road game is at Buffalo. That's the first thing. The second is that they hold the tiebreaker with Oakland.

The Broncos are on a six-game roll, and it's hard to imagine them unraveling now. Not after what happened here. They should've lost but they didn't, and I want to know what Marion Barber was doing when he ran out of bounds with under two minutes left. Denver didn't have a timeout, and  had he stayed in bounds the Broncos almost surely would've lost.

But they didn't. Tim Tebow came to the rescue, and stop if you've heard this before.

Broncos going to playoffs

God's QB is on a roll! I'd rather root for Tim Tebow than for Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers....the last two are so arrogant it makes me sick! They are only good because they play on good teams. Tebow plays for a bad team but he is making them look good.

I told the 49ers to get Tim Tebow before the lockout...but no...they decided to keep Alex Smith.....another Urban Meyer protege and looked how that turned out! Hey, it's better than keeping any former student of Jeff "I used to be a QB guru...but sadly am no longer" Tedford.

I'm not a Raiders fan. They (the team and fans are sooooo arrogant). When they acquired Carson Palmer they acted like they had won the division and was playing for a top seed in the playoffs. Sadly, they are losing groind in the division to two very pathetic teams in the Broncos and Chargers. You know life is treating you harshly when you get routed by a Norv Turner coached team.

Sure hope Tebow can put up 40 because Brady will put up 35.

We will see how much of a contender the Broncos are this weekend.

Mr Jack-Sprat, what you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul

"Im still not sold on this guy, not one bit.  Tell me all you want about him being a winner, when I watch him play I see a really bad QB that happens to be a decent RB that is getting very lucky at the end of games."  --adonze40

Nor am I. Still and yet, it's better than the opposite. The Un-Quarterback's winning ways beat the dreadful stylings of the like of prototypical NFL QB prospects JaMarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf by a country mile. I even prefer his wagging his finger publicly at the Almighty to the unfortunate facial expressions of Cutler and McNabb. (After all, it could be that Tebow's just reminding Him that His humble servant remains in dire lack of some of those same so-called "necessities" that all the usual suspects once claimed were lacking in black QBs.)

I wish that I could say that a good man will always win out, but that's a load of bull dookie. Sure, Warren Moon only had to go to Canada and win five consecutive Grey Cups before the NFL gave him a shot. And, yeah, Sinatra only had to go and make it big in Hollywood before the record companies let him take a run at adult music lovers. Must be a piece of cake, then, eh?! Maybe not; just ask Doug Flutie. The truest thing that can be said about the "big time" is that there are only so many shots at it to go around. (Which maybe means that those itinerant PGA Tour wanna-bes, last seen, several years ago, muttering in their beards about the "unfairness" of exempting women golfers into men's events in place of yet more not-quite-so-long-shot would-be male qualifiers, might've had a point, however silly it was for them to have been caught in public with it.)

The more Tebow keeps winning the harder it's going to be to trade the guy. Teams will want him and this streak jumps his stock but if Elway isn't convinced his choice of QB's in the draft is getting smaller. Playoff will put the Broncos in the mid-20's and that's not top prospect territory.

I don't know can you bet against this team.
If Tebow keeps improving, even a little from his 21-40 236 1 TD performance
who knows what happens in the playoffs. Bears had a decent defense. And maybe if the Broncos pick up an NFL receiver.

I wonder why nobody talks about Kolb, Hanie, T.Jackson, Gabbert, Painter, Beck, Palko and other young starters?

Denver has to lose to KC for SD to have a chance. If Denver goes 1-2 and beats KC, Denver will break even on the head to head with SD and would have a better division record, 4-2 vs SD'd 3-3.
