Just an update on the Sportsperson of the Decade tournament.....

Voting will continue until we reach a sufficient number of voters.
I will then seed the field based on voting and my own personal thoughts on how it should be done.
Right now we have 70 votes.

Like I said Bucfan he was a great player but there's a reason you are the only person out of about 50+ comments that has mentioned him.

just because the media hypes the hell out of him doesnt make him that great. Just because the media doesnt buy into Brooks as much because he's quiet doesnt make him any less dominant. He's the poster boy of Cover 2 linebacker. 8 pro-bowls, 5 first team All-Pro. 1 MVP. 1 ring. Outside of Brady, Ray Lewis,  or maybe Manning, no one on that list from a football perspective can match that. Terrell Owens? No. The numbers speak for themselves. Not to mention a captain of what was year in, year out a top 10 defense.

That equals great player but he wasn't one of the 50 best players of this decade. I agree on James but you've got to admitt since he got into the NBA he's made a much bigger splash that Brooks did in the NFL. Few players could be as good as James is though.

Brooks made 8 First team all pro teams. He won a MVP (in the nfl, they split it up for each side of the ball as you know). He's got a ring. Made 8 "all star teams". Just b/c he;s fallen off the last 3 or 4 years shouldn't deminish it. Remember that LBJ wasnt even around near the start of the decade. Just sayin.

Mainly because Lebron has been the NBA's best player (or one of the best) the last three seasons. Brooks was a great player but most wouldn't have considered him as one of the very few elite in the NFL. There are a lot of good/great players, like Brooks, that aren't listed.

Can I please get an explenation on why Derrick Brooks isnt in it and yet Lebron James is?

Brooks has 3 times the accomplishments that Queen James does.
