March 2 Bracketology

I love the daily updates on the blog. One thing:

I think you are overrating the Big East, the conference has very few good out of league wins, and I expect they will be exposed come tournament time. I know it's a "weak" bubble, but why is West Virginia a 9 seed? Their best non-league win was vs. a sub-.500 A-10 team Duquesne, and have yet to beat a top 100 team on the road all season. Their double opponents on the Big East schedule are St. Johns (5-11), Providence (4-11) and Pitt (9-7), so they are playing an easier Big East schedule than most. So what makes them an NCAA team? A probable 10-8 Big East record? Hope the committee sends a team without a single good road or non-league win where they deserve to be, the NIT.

Four Things Dan

  1. Clemson ought to be higher than #7
  2. Ohio State shouldn't be that close... they are gone
  3. UNC-Asheville is the team in the Big South lead... they beat Winthrop today.
  4. Ole Miss right now is more credible than VT at 19 wins even if they are 5-9 in conference

PS:  Your still in the picture line only has three teams
