Buffalo Bills : Looking forward FINALLY!

So lets take a look at the upcoming weeks to the bye and the week after.

Week 3 Oakland Raiders Oakland Raiders logo

So this team has had plenty of its downs, but they have definitely added some hot young pieces for the future of their franchise.  While the head coach position is up in the air one thing that is not is the ability for this team to run the ball.  The passing game is not anything to exciting and nothing to worry to much about.  A win against the Cheifs in week 2 puts them a 1-1 however thats a temporary fix for a major situation in Raidazz land.  I think the Bills have shown they can handle powerfull running teams. (Jaguars)

My Prediction Bills 28 - 7  Bills 3-0 Raiders 1-2

Week 4 St. Louis Rams  St. Louis Rams logo

A team that was once built for bug plays wether it be through the air or running straight up the middle.  Since his injury Stephen Jackson has looked everything but himself not saying he doesnt have a big game ahead of him eventually.  Torry Holt will always be a dangerous reciever, but Marc Bulger has 2 seconds to get the ball out and his passes are less than stellar at this point.  The defense has alot of improving to do showing they are very vulnerable to big plays.  The Bills will come into this game looking to exploit this teams defense and move the ball around..  Marshawn will be able to run for some big plays as the Bills move on to another victory.

My Prediction Bills 35 - Rams - 10

Week 5 Arizona Cardinals Arizona Cardinals logo

This is probably the first real test the Bills will see since weeks 1 and 2.  Kurt Warner coming into the season looked good ending last season on a high.  Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald are one of the best duos of wideouts the league has and are great at their own skills.  Edgerrin James has declined since the days with the Colts but still has the prescense(spell check) to make your defense stay grounded for the run.  The Cardinals defense has improved overall although they have more to grow on.  A tight one that could end up in a shoot out the Bills will control the clock with their tandum of Mr. Beast mode and Fred Jackson

My Prediction Bills 28 Cardinals 24

Week 6 Bye

At this point if all is lived up the Buffalo Bills could be 5-0 for the first time in a very long time.  Sitting on a record like that after 5 games would very much help the chances of going to the playoffs for the first time since 1999 when they lost on a forward pass. (bitter)

One step Further... Week 7 San Diego Chargers San Diego Chargers logo

What do you have to say about this team?  Great offense, Great defense.. Picked by many to be superbpowl contenders.  Going into week 3 this team is 0-2 but could easily be 2-0.  Losing on a last second pass by the Panthers and a complete blown call by Hochuli against the Broncos they have dropped two.  LaDanian Tomlinson is dealing with a nagging toe injury and Antonio Gates is still bugged from his from last year.  Phillip Rivers has played very well given the situation and Chris Chambers has produced some big plays.  If the Bills manage to get to 5 -0 and have the extra week to prepare they have a legitimate shot at putting the bolts down, but it would one hell of a performance to pull it off.  The Bolts do have to come in to Rich Stadium for this one though and the elements of changing weather may help the Bills.

No Prediction on this game

Lots to look forward to in Buffalo Land! Go Bills lets Billieve

Buffalo Bills : Looking forward FINALLY!

Good post, and smart not putting a prediction on the Bolts game yet. Bears fan: Thanks for the input. I have to disagree about Lee Evans though. Lee Evans is a solid number one, hands down. People just don't realize it nationally.  He has never had a solid number two to help keep coverages honest. Even so, he has put up good numbers. But he faces constant double teams and cheating safeties. He has handled that as well as any number one, but has had other disadvantages as well. He has played with three different QBs in his short career. Each time he has had to reestablish that timing and chemistry. When he has had a good passer (Bledsoe was a good passer, though not a great all-around QB) he has been dynamic. His second disadvantage has been playing with two quarterbacks starting for the first time in the NFL. The years that he has not put up big numbers have not been his fault. The ball has to get to him for him to make a catch. His third problem has been that Bledsoe and Losman had the bad tendency to "lock on" to Lee. Not only could defenses double team him because of the lack of a number two, they could often jump the route because Bledsoe and Losman would stare him down and make it obvious where they were going. Fourth, Lee has been the victim of poor offensive coordinators with predict
able  and overly conservative play calling (partly because of the young QBs). Defenses always knew when it was a passing down. Lee was never moved around the field. And the Bills would always choose the run over the pass. Finally, Lee Evans is not the flashy, showboat type. He gets a lot less attention than other guys because when he scores (or whatever else), he flips the ball to the ref and goes straight to the sideline. And you never see him on ESPN jawing at other players or talking himself up. Thats not Lee. Now that Edwards is becoming more comfortable, gaining experience and the coaches' confidence, you can expect to see that Lee is a true number one. I'm gald to hear that you are keeping an eye on the Bills. If you keep watching, you are going to see big things from Lee as the year progresses. As a side note, Lee Evans is also one of the real "good guys" in the NFL; a huge asset to any team.

Buffalo Bills : Looking forward FINALLY!

Great post Mr. Laker.  I agree with your opinions and with your outcomes.  I did see that you dident place a final score on the Bill vs Chargers, perhaps you dident want to get to far ahead of ourselves, but when was the last time we felt this good about our Bills? I BILLEVE the final score will be Buffalo 20 Chargers 19, and dont ask

Buffalo Bills : Looking forward FINALLY!

Being a Bears fan(had to get away from my boards, the Rex Grossman/Kyle Orton debate happened again for the millionth time), hope you dont mind an outside opinion.

Ive been keeping my eyes on the Bills for some time. Trent Edwards has some tools, but if he had that solid number 1 WR, he'd have options everywhere. Maybe 2 or more years, but James Hardy nor Lee Evans is worth a number 1.

Marshawn Lynch has surprised, i thought he was the poor west coast kid that is in the part of New York that is overlooked(and underrated, i visited Buffalo, nice place), and he'd hate his place. But i believe he loves it.

The Defense has been stellar out of Buffalo, and now for your schedule.....I see you guys beating the Raiders, but i see the Raiders putting up more than 1 score. The Rams are playing worse than my Bears, and 35-10 sounds logical. Arizona is a touchy spot, because either Boldin and Fitzgerald will have monster days and they score 40, or their offense is more anemic than the Bears passing game and they put up 3. If your coaches make the changes to fit against Boldin and Fitz, i see a win. As for the Chargers, well their D is slow, hopefully you guys will face them when Cromartie is still out of sync.

You guys can win 3 or all 4, just dont get your heads blown up by the Ws. Good luck guys and gals. Stop by the Bears board anytime.

Buffalo Bills : Looking forward FINALLY!

Every game up to the bye is very winnable.  We could even take San Diego, and I'd love to see us kill them.

After that, at New England, at the Jets, and at the Broncs are the only things close to question marks to me.  I think this'll finally be the year we take one from the Pats.  Thanks Mr. Brady!

Trent Edwards is unquestionably the MVP at this point.  He is playing error-free football.

Buffalo Bills : Looking forward FINALLY!

I can't remember the last time I was this excited about both the Bills and the Raptors in the same season. Wait, I can, because I've NEVER been this excited about both at the same time.

Good times are coming for the team in NYS. I can't wait til we're 5-0 heading into the bye and ESPN is forced to finnally give us the respect we deserve.

Buffalo Bills : Looking forward FINALLY!

I agree that you shouldn't have any trouble with Oakland. Boy, it really gets me that St Louis have a bad O-line. They could be so good, they have a top five RB, top WR and a fairly good QB, if only they could give him a couple extra seconds for him to throw the ball.

So the Bills should move to 4-0. Already that means to get a playoff spot they can go 7-5 in the next 12 games.

I think the Cardinals have a shot. Warner/James-Hightower against Edwards/Lynch. Boldin and Fitzgerald against the Buffalo WRs...

If the Cardinals D can hold up, and they have been looking good so far, I think they have a better shot at the Bills.

5-0 or 4-1, the Bills definitely have a great shot at the playoffs. I just can't see them not making the playoffs. Chargers will be tough, coming off a loss and a bye week they could lose. If they are 4-2 they will need to make sure they don't slide down to 4-3. Once they get to 6-2 I think they will be safe, because they just need 5-3 for the next few games.

I just cna't see them not making the playoffs.
