Bib's College Pick 'em 2: Round 9

Alright here's how this is going to go. I'll come up with 12 games of interest every week for you all to choose from. You'll pick the winners and post them here or on the thread, whether you post them here or not, I will add them to the blog to make them easy to keep up with. I try to pick games between teams in the top 25, or in the other's recieving votes but then I move to teams with winning records then .500 records, and all teams are FBS.

Anybody is welcome to join in at any time, dont worry about missing a week if you decide to join late.

Good Luck!

This week's games:

(Rankings Reflect BCS rankings)

*Thursday*

North Carolina (4-3) at #13 Virginia Tech 20-17

*Friday*

#21 West Virginia at South Florida (5-2) 19-30

*Saturday*

Rutgers (5-2) at Connecticut (4-3) 28-24

#25 Mississippi at Auburn (5-3) 20-33

Central Michigan (7-1) at Boston College (5-2) 10-31

#24 California at Arizona State (4-3) 23-21

Kansas (5-2) at Texas Tech (5-3) 21-42

Iowa St. (5-3) at Texas A&M (4-3) 10-35

Georgia (4-3) at #1 Florida 17-41

Kansas State (5-3) at Oklahoma (4-3) 30-42

#3  Texas at #14 Oklahoma St 41-14

#5 USC at #10 Oregon 20-47

My Picks :    7-5

Apparently the Heels have fallen off quite a bit since last year. Their only decent looking win is the one over UConn, they've lost all of their ACC games including one to Virginia. VT should take this one easily, especially at home

or not . . .Foot in mouth

WV hanst really had that game that makes me say, yes, this team is good and that's why they're just 21 in the standings. at the same time they dont really have a bad loss. USF has been handled in their last two against cinci and Pitt and it looks like the Big East has their number and the Freshman has come back down to earth.

and WV has come back down to earth . . .

I was slightly on the fence on this one for a while. Rutgers lost by 7 to Pitt and that is the only significant game they've had in my eyes. Connecticut is somewhat hard to read but coming off of that battle with WV and the funeral being this monday and the fact that they're coming back home I think the emotion in the stadium puts them over the top.

Damn! Two weeks in a row it looks like they've won and then the other team makes a huge play. poor UConn . . .

Auburn has hit a wall offensively since entering conference play. thier offense was looking explosive but has sputtered out of late. Meanwhile, Ole Miss has gotten themselves back on track. Common opponent is Arkansas, Ole Miss beat them 30-17, Auburn lost 23-44.

I guess Auburn broke through that wall . . .

CMU is a good team, but they're a different team on the road than at home. Before I'd pick a smaller conference school to beat a major confernce contender Im going to need that team to dominate their conference which CMU hasnt on the road. BC (besides that game where Dabo and the boys had the eagles team help them wrangle 2 of each species) has been pretty consistent. CMU might score but the better team wins in the end.

Wow, CMU didnt even compete

I'm going to admit that AZ state had me hypnotized for a couple weeks because of how close they played Georgia but in Pac 10 play they havent really impressed me. The Washington win is good and was at home but they did not blow out Washington state, and that's just something you have to do. Cal did however blow Washington state out. and I think they're back on track.

Last minute field goal but a win is a win!

I have no way to explain what happened to the Red Raiders last week but other than that game they've been pretty  consistent. I had been waiting for a while for Kansas to be exposed and it finally happened against Colorado of all teams. The red raiders should get themselves back on track this week.

Nice win, Nice win

Iowa State is surprisingly good right now, an ugly win over Nebraska, but they took care of Baylor like they were supposed to and lost in close games to both of the Kasas schools. A&M, who I like (mostly because their QB is on one of my fantasy teams) has been all over the place. They owned Tech a week after getting owned by Kansas state. They seem to play well every other week (seriously look at their games) and they played well last week so they wont this week. I already thought Iowa state was the better team but I know A&M can be dangerous.

I guess A&M is for real . . .

As much as I want Florida to lose, and think they will, this is not the week. Georgia has played like a team led by a freshman this year. Ups and downs. Florida has been proven to be flawed but they'll find a way to get it done.

Dominant performance.

It's all about the Oklahoma D for me. They have a great defense, and while Kansas state can be explosive, they can also be stopped.

Kansas State did score but Oklahoma got it done.

The Horns wont slip here. They have the defense to go with the offense.

The shorter my post is the more sure I am.

Listen closely as I say this . . . Oregon has the better offense in this game. How many times has that been said about USC? Dont think I've heard it. Their defense? Allowed 27 and 36 in the last two games. that 36 is the second highest Oregon state has scored this year (38 against stanford). Ducks and it's not even a long shot pick, this is a tossup game. its time for that damn freshman to look like one

Did I say Oregon had a better offense? Yeah, I did. 613 yards later . . .

Bib's College Pick 'em 2: Round 9

Well, it's a good thing I don't live in vegas, I would be shirtless after that pathetic week, and nobody wants to see that.

Bib's College Pick 'em 2: Round 9

North Carolina (4-3) at #13 Virginia Tech - This game is already over, but I would have picked VT anyways. So whatever.

#21 West Virginia at South Florida (5-2) - South Florida is not even that good.  WVU wins.

Rutgers (5-2) at Connecticut (4-3) - UConn hasn't won anything recently.  I could care less whether its a close loss or not, they don't win.

#25 Mississippi at Auburn (5-3) - I was about to pick Mississippi last week until Bib influenced me.  This time i completely scrolled past all of his stuff.  Prepare for a letdown.

Central Michigan (7-1) at Boston College (5-2) - BC is in a real conference.  No chance for CMU.

#24 California at Arizona State (4-3) - Cal is on a hot streak.  AZ State is crap.

Kansas (5-2) at Texas Tech (5-3) - TTech played horrible last week.  Look for things to shake up with Tech's QB returning.

Iowa St. (5-3) at Texas A&M (4-3) - Iowa State is not as bad as they used to.  Injured players are coming back and they get a ' big' road win.

Georgia (4-3) at #1 Florida - This game should be a entertaining shootout with over 70 points scored, because Georgia has a knack for getting into games like that.

Kansas State (5-3) at Oklahoma (4-3) - Oklahoma steps up their game for a weak KState.

#3  Texas at #14 Oklahoma St - So tempting to pick Ok State!  But being safe should help me out.  Picking upsets is a recipe for disaster.

#5 USC at #10 Oregon - Oregon has a reaaaaallllly good chance of winning, with them playing at home and the past history and all.  But I never pick against my team.  Ever.

Bib's College Pick 'em 2: Round 9

Here are my picks, all I can say is winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Thursday*

North Carolina (4-3) at #13  Virginia Tech, Virginia Tech, Beamer over Butch

*Friday*

#21 West Virginia at South Florida (5-2), West Virginia, Noel Devine runs wild when he gets close to home  and has a home contingent to cheer him on. (he's from Fort Myers)

*Saturday*

Rutgers (5-2) at Connecticut (4-3) - Rutgers, but who cares

#25 Mississippi at Auburn (5-3), Ole Miss, Auburn's slide continues

Central Michigan (7-1) at Boston College (5-2), Central Michigan, the MAC provers it is better than the down ACC

#24 California at Arizona State (4-3), Arizona State, the Sun Debvils in the desert

Kansas (5-2) at Texas Tech (5-3), Texas Tech, Kansas is over-rated and played nobody

Iowa St. (5-3) at Texas A&M (4-3), Texas A & M, just because Iowa State is Iowa State, nuff said.

Georgia (4-3) at #1 Florida, Florida, Florida continues it's recent domination in the worlds largest outdoor cocktail party

Kansas State (5-3) at Oklahoma (4-3). Oklahoma, K-State still has a way to go and is not in Oklahoma's league.

#3  Texas at #14 Oklahoma St, Oklahoma State, I'm taking the cowboys with the upset at home.

#5 USC at #10 Oregon, USC, talent wins out.

As I said, winner, winner chicken dinner.  I should live in Vegas.
