Derrick Rose vs Rajon Rondo

Ok, so the Allstar game is creeping up on us and a debate has sparked as to who should get on the Allstar Team in the East. Devin Harris should be the Starting PG without question but who should be the back-up. To me it is down to Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo. So let us take a look at both players and let the votes speak for themselves.

Rajon Rondo is a solid all around player that is slowly becoming a top self PG in the NBA. He is quick and a great ball handler, but is over-shadowed by the Big 3 on the team. In the year or two as Ray Allen fades further, I see Rondo stepping up and being that third option. That is already starting to happen in a way.

Some will say that his apg stats are inflated because of all the talent around him and that could be true, but that raises a solid question. Is Rondo good only because of the team he is on, or would he be averaging over 20 points a night if he was the go to guy on a lesser team?

I happen to think that Rondo is a great talent and will continue to improve. I think he would be a stud if he were on another team but the Celtics are the place to be if you want to win. I wonder what will happen when he is a free agent?

Derrick Rose has been a real shocker to me and I bet just about everyone. I really thought it would take a couple of years for him to become a factor. I thought that Kirk Hinrich would be a starter all season, but Rose has been an instant star and the Bulls have needed a player of his talent since MJ left.

Rose just might be the fastest player in the league and if not the fastest he is surely one of the most explosive. His crossover is as sick as they come and if the rest of the Bulls players would do a better job hitting their shots I bet Rose's assist would go up quite a bit. He has great court vision and is a true leader on and off the floor.

He does need to work a little on defense and he is starting to show signs that he is hitting the Rookie wall and looks tired at times.

So who do you think should make the Allstar Team?

Derrick Rose vs Rajon Rondo

It really is a shame how Devin Harris probably isn't going to start.

Derrick Rose vs Rajon Rondo

I absolutey believe he should make the all-star team. He is a difference maker and a top talent in the Eastern Conference. I have also noticed him slowing a little, but he has no help on his team and is trying to do it all by himself.  An all-star, but at this point not the starter.

Derrick Rose vs Rajon Rondo

Great Post! Two good young players. I'm from Chicago and Derrick Rose has been more than advertised but I would have to give the All-Star bid to Rajon Rondo if I had to. That is a real tough one though and I could go either way on it.
