GM's Predict that LBJ heads to the Bulls?

Posted on: May 14, 2010 9:32 am

Sorry to add to all the LeBron James threads but I found this in my early morning reading and found it interesting. It is from ESPN's Chad Ford.

"Boston Celtics fans were chanting "New York Knicks" during Thursday's Game 6 every time that LeBron James went to the foul line. Maybe they should've been chanting "Chicago Bulls."

Within minutes of the Cleveland Cavaliers' elimination at the hands of the Celtics, the speculation about LeBron James' next destination resumed in full force.

In the space of five minutes I heard from three NBA GMs via text, e-mail and phone. All three said that based on the information they have, they believe LeBron will leave the Cavs.

More surprisingly, all of them said they believe the destination will be the Chicago Bulls. Two said they believe that John Calipari will be the Bulls' new head coach."

Very interesting. I have been saying all along that Chicago makes the most sense for leBron if he want a shot at a title next season. I understand the draw of New York City and New Jersey, but those two teams do not have the core of players that Chicago does in Derrick Rose, Taj Gibson, Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, and Kirk Hinrich. The Bulls would also have money to sign another player for about 4-5 million per and have the parts to make a trade with Kirk Hinrich and Luol Deng.

Nobody really knows, but if the Bulls hire John Calipari for their new Head Coach then I think that that will be the writing on the wall.

GM's Predict that LBJ heads to the Bulls?

Too bad he'll be a Dallas Mav next year.

1.He will earn more money by signing with Cle. Then Cle can trade him, and at least get something in return.... A Young Roddy B? He did score 55 in a game this year. And will be something special soon.

2. He will earn more money in Chi, NY, or Dallas with endorsements. Dallas is the #4 market in the US. And NY and Chi are EASTERN conf teams = no trade to them.

3. He can play with a superstar right now in Dirk. And have an owner that will do what ever it takes to win.

Sorry Chicago. I do think D Wade will be a Bull though.

GM's Predict that LBJ heads to the Bulls?

Lebron isn't going anywhere. His chances in Cleveland are as good or better than anywhere else he could go.

Lebron to the Bulls would seem like a good fit, but only if they don't tinker with what they already have. I'm talkin' their core group of players. As for the Bulls acquiring a big free agent I like Boozer over Bosh. The reason being I think Boozer will be more likely to give up shots for rebounding and defense. I don't think Bosh would do the same. 2011 Champs?? that would be a little bit of a stretch. There's a handful of teams out there that might have something to say about that. No matter where King James ends up one thing is sure in my mind he will be the best player on the court..

GM's Predict that LBJ heads to the Bulls?

Lebron James is going to go where he can make the most money outside of the basketball court.  That means either Chicago or New York.  He'll make more money in endorsements in either of those cities then he'd make down in Miami.  Lebron goes to Chicago he'll be raking in the money from endorsements; just like Jordan did.  Chicago currently has the better supporting cast, and chances are good that they're going to add someone else other then Lebron as well.

We all know that New York may of invented pizza, but Chicago perfected it.  Lebron is going to the Bulls.

Go,

You make a good point. Bosh has stated he wants to be the man on the team. I still think he would be a number two behind Rose. I really hope the Bulls do not get to caught up in the LeBron idea. I think the Bulls would be better served with Bosh and then look to add a solid 3 point shooter to help spread the floor. Wade and LeBron both are best with the ball in their hands and that will hurt Rose's game. I also think LeBron's personality will clash with Noah's. Noah is the Bulls leader and might not be too happy sharing it with LBJ, because Noah is full of passion and desire and gives every second on the floor his all. he might simply feel that James does not deserve to lead.

GM's Predict that LBJ heads to the Bulls?

If the Bulls do bring in LeBron James, I think they'd make a huge mistake by bringing in another top free agent (some of you are suggesting Chris Bosh).  Because then you'd have LeBron, Derrick Rose and Bosh who all, not necessarily want, but need touches to be effective players.  The Bulls with the addition of LeBron would be perfect.  But if you add yet another big name free agent that needs touches, that creates a log jam at the top which will ruin team chemistry and, after they resign Derrick Rose (if they have any money left to do so), will create a very top heavy payroll which will limit what they can do with Joakim Noah and also what supporting cast they can put around LeBron, Rose and Bosh.
