Vick-Would you want him as the BU QB on your team

Posted on: July 27, 2009 4:23 pm
Well, the NFL Commish has spoken.  Michael Vick is conditionally reinstated.  Two pre-season games, able to practice and work out with a team if signed.  6th game of the season we'll know more.  Yet the question is, would you want him this season, and perhaps more, as the back-up on your favorite NFL team?

In the Wildcat formation, he presents untold problems for the defense.  In the public relations arena, he could very well present untold problems for the team that signs him.  He has served his incarceration as dictated by the court system.  Robert Goodell wants to see the plan Michael lays out for his forseeable future.  Michael has Tony Dungy in his corner as a mentor and consultant.  And yet Michael lied to the owner of the Falcons.  And to the NFL Commish.  And I'll admit that Michael Vick is an incredible upgrade to almost all teams, for most loyal fans cringe if their back-up must take control of a game needed to win, or heaven forbid to finish out the season as a starter.

I, for one, don't care to see him with the Chiefs.  But the Panthers had to utilize Vinny, literally dragging him away from the early bird dinner specials.  Bill Parcells and the Dolphins are a possiblity.  Same with the free wallet of Daniel Snyder and the Redskins.  And let us not forget Al's Raiders.

And if you wouldn't want him on your team, would you wish him on your rivals ?

First of all.... NO, i don't want to see him in an opponents uniform. The guy can still run. I don't want him on the Chiefs either because we don't need him. I do however wouldn't mind seeing him in the NFL again. I don't like what he did either but i think everyone deserves 2nd and 3rd chances. I once was at a party where a guy took a sledgehammer and killed a dog with one swing because the dog bit him. The dog was totally provoked in the first place and i wanted to kick the chit out of that guy but that was mainly because nothing happened to him. Vick actually served a jail sentence and paid his debt to society which is why i think he should be given another chance. Besides, it's not going to be nearly as fun for him this time around. He's going to be taking a lot of chit from the fans everywhere he goes.

I do not think he learned anything other than who to trust, and how to hide your skeletons. He strikes me as a phony that relies on athletic talent rather than moral values. I feel his remorseful comments were scripted and I never heard him apologize to the pet owners, he apologized to the kids who looked up to him as a role model. Funny thing is that I can see right through his BS, Little Johnny will not be buying a #7 jersey if I don't sell myself to the kids. Vick is just full of himself. I am not a fan of pit bulls, but torturing animals is the lowest form of scum-sucking behavior I can imagine past mistreating a child.

I hope he gets his clock cleaned, wound, and reset to another dimension.

Vick-Would you want him as the BU QB on your team

I don't want him on the Browns, regardless of the less than stellar QB candidates (Ken Andersen and Brady Quinn) that will be vying for the starter's role when camp opens next week.

I also don't want him on my rivals' roster, or any NFL roster for that matter.

I don't want to see him play NFL football at all...ever...but, that's just my opinion.

I've always admired and respected Tony Dungy, but I believe he's wasting his breath and time in attempting to serve as a mentor and consultant to Vick.  Vick listens to no one but his own ego, vanity and greed.

If he is signed, and I believe he will be since the owner's care only for profit margin and not the integrity of the game anymore, it could be the Panthers, Raiders or Redskins.  The Panthers have no one but Jake Delhomme, who proved less than capable during last year's playoff meltdown.  The Raiders are paying big bucks to Russell, but getting nothing back in return, and Al Davis is senile enough to dump Jamarcus in favor of Vick.  The Redskins would sign him only out of Snyder's greed and belief that he is the football version of George Steinbrenner, and can buy a Super Bowl title.

I hear there's some excellent job openings currently at McDonald's and Burger King though.
