2012 MLS Power Rankings - Week 10

Posted on: May 18, 2012 10:17 pm

Hey everybody. We're posting this on the road from a Rhode Island hotel room and I apologize for the lateness and the short entry, but I do have some thoughts before I get to the rankings. First, congrats to the Houston Dynamo on their first win of 2012 and opening BBVA Compass Stadium in style. Brad Davis had the game winner in the 1-0 win over DC, which is fitting considering he and Brian Ching are the only two "original" players left from the teams relocation from SJ years ago. The more I see Freddy Adu's "embellishment" against NY, the more I think the referee should have just signaled play on. Replays are inconclusive on whether Dax McCarty did foul Adu, but it also doesn't seem like Adu went straight to ground looking for a call either, as he more loses his balance from the challenge. Memo to Vancouver -- Lee Nguyen can say that his 2 goal, 1 assist preformance wasn't about revenge for the Whitecaps cutting him in preseason. We know the truth, he enjoyed every second of that game and his wonder-volley goal to cap off the Revs 4-1 win is the clubhouse leader for goal of the year in 2012.
