The Russians have turned down McCain's request for campaign money.
Russia's ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, and several other diplomats at the Russian mission received a fundraising appeal from the Republican presidential nominee Thursday, said spokesman Ruslan Bakhtin.
"Dear Friend," is how the six page letter to Churkin was started, asking for up to an amount of $5,000 to beat Senator Barack Obama and help McCain to "promote freedom and democracy throughout the world."
The McCain campaign's fundraising letters, which were dated on September 29th, did not use formal titles. That led Churkin and his colleagues to conclude the requests stemmed from "a computer failure" by McCain's campaign, Bakhtin said.
"It's evident that it was a mistake. It happens," said Bakhtin.
Brian Rogers, a spokesman for the McCain campaign, said he was unable to pinpoint what caused the blunder.
I find this quite hilarious, being how I'm not in favor or John McCain, or much less for Sarah Palin..
I guess it's a good thing I can't vote for now..
