Greg Anthony The New Clark Kellogg

As I told you last April from the Final Four in San Antonio, Greg Anthony will be the new studio analyst for CBS Sports during the college basketball season.

Clark Kellogg leaves the studio to take Billy Packer's place calling games with Jim Nantz.

Anthony moves into the studio with Seth Davis of Sports Illustrated and Greg Gumbel.

Anthony, of course, played point guard on the fabulous UNLV teams in 1990 and 1991. He also played in the NBA. He's worked as an NBA analyst on ESPN in recent years.

Be interesting to see how this works. Entirely new dynamic for CBS. Packer has been the voice and face of the network for 26 years.

Here's what I like: Anthony is not an ACC guy.

ACC basketball is wonderful, compelling stuff. I enjoy watching ACC games and respect the league a ton.

But every analyst doesn't have to have roots at North Carolina or Duke or another ACC school -- like Packer, Jay Bilas, Hubert Davis, Brad Daugherty, Jay Williams, Mike Gminski, Jim Spanarkel, Len Elmore and a few others I could mention.

We get enough ACC love from ESPN. Props to CBS for turning to a guy with West Coast connections.
