Based on reactions throughout the night, this is clearly the main event for the live crowd. It's not even close. Even after a loss, Faber gets a thunderous, superstar reaction. The crowd is louder than for any fighter at Affliction last night except Fedor, and there were around 5,000 more fans at that show. Pulver gets big cheers as well.

Round 1. Faber goes for a kick and Pulver throws him down. Pulver grabs a clinch, but Faber spins him around against the cage. They break. Both men are looking for knees in the clinch. Faber with a left right combo, and Pulver is in trouble. It was a punch to the body that did the most damage, as you could see Pulver wince in pain. Faber follows through with more punches and then grabs a choke for a quick sumission win.

An emotional Pulver is very upset about this one. You have to feel bad for the guy. Matt Hume is doing his best to console Pulver. Pulver gets a big reaction from the crowd after the fight, clearly appreciative of all he has accomplished in the sport (and the fact he's one of the most likeable human beings in MMA).

Jens Pulver vs. Urijah Faber

This was definitely the fight I tuned in for.  I'm not sure what fight the other two commenters watched in Faber vs Pulver I back in June.  That was an awesome fight, and I think that Pulver took all of the power that Faber had to offer, and was more than up for the challenge.  I really do feel bad for Pulver, because he truly seems like a really nice guy, but seems to have lost his edge of late.  Of course, with the emotional roller coaster he has been on since late last year, it was amazing that he could even manage to show up for this fight.  After I heard all that he had gone through, and with Faber needing a strong showing after his Brown loss, you knew this was going to be a real quick fight.

Congrats to Faber for being a top notch fighter.  I predict he will have his belt back in Round 1 or 2 as soon as he can get a rematch.

Even bigger congrats to Pulver for being such an awesome representative for the sport of MMA.  I hope he hangs around for a few more fights, but even after that, I hope that he can pass along some of his class to the next group of fighters.

Jens Pulver vs. Urijah Faber

i didn't get to see Faber vs. Pulver Part II but i have the ame reaction as you do.  Faber could have taken Pulver out on several occasions in their first meeting.

Mike Brown is definitely no slopuch.  The Faber/Brown rematch will be awesome.  It's MMA.  you never know what's goin gto happen.  Faber goit caught last time with a big, big elbow.

i'm really excited to see that rematch.  it could be the best fight of the year.  do you know if it has been scheduled yet?

Jens Pulver vs. Urijah Faber

After the first fight I was dissapointed to see a rematch. I felt that they spared in the first fight. I felt Faber didn't take him out when he could have on several occasions............maybe out of respect for the guy or what, but I truly felt this fight would be short with Faber doing what he should have the first time. His rematch for the belt should be pretty good. The guy that beat him is tough and strong and Faber knows it. I can't wait to see that fight.
