MLB Predictions and Playoffs

the twins will finish over .500

the AL central will be a tight race to see who gets in, as there are 4 very talented teams in our division.  of those 4 (excluding the royals...), the twins probably have the least amount of star power, but they play together as a team much better.  they have one of the best batting averages in the MLB with runners in scoring position.  the twins play small ball, which is always underestimated, but when a team does it successfully, it can be very effective.  i don't see us making the playoffs this season, and maybe not next season either, but watch out for us in 2010 when the new stadium opens...our young talent will have had a few years to develop, and we still have one of the best closers in baseball.

ron gardenhire is the single most underrated manager in baseball...every year he takes a team that is writen off at the beginning of the year and pushes them to the top end of the division.

MLB Predictions and Playoffs

These are some great picks but i most definitely do not think that the dodgers will make it that far there offense is shake and so is there pitching. I also think that the Phillies have a tremendous chance of making it all the way and with there terrific pitching and amazing offense that seems to be getting better each week that they are likely to make a run to the world series and possibly win it over the angels. The Phillies and Angels Would be quite interesting to see soley based on the fact that the Phillies have a great offense while the Angels have possibly the best starters and best bullpen not to mention a lights out closer by the name of Fransisco Rodriguez.

Nice picks! It's interesting to note that we have the same World Series matchup :) Angels vs. Dodgers would be a GREAT World Series to watch, unlike last year's Rockies vs. Red Sox version.

MLB Predictions and Playoffs

I am just not sold on the Rangers pitching staff and that is why I think that they will struggle toward the end of the year; right where the Mariners begin to play hot. Granted, the Mariners will not play enough to reach the Playoffs, but there are too many good pieces there to finish last in the division. If the Rangers pitching staff exceeds the expectations that I have for them, than I'll change my 'MLB Predictions and Playoffs' blog at a later date.

I'm surprised that nobody really mentioned me putting down the Los Angeles Dodgers as the World Series champion. I expected some people to call me crazy and insane. I think they will get really hot around September and October because of their pitching staff (Brad Penny, Derek Lowe, Chad Billingsley, etc...), relief pitching (Jonothon Broxton and Takashi Saito) as well as their solid hitting. I think that these two combinations will prove to be an asset come the fall.

By the way, I am NOT a Dodgers fan so this is not a biased pick :)

MLB Predictions and Playoffs

And to Sherm: Blalock better perform twice as as good as he was at 1st otherwise I'll come to your house and kick your dog.

Reh, Hahaha. My dog would bite your a$$.

A serious flaw with putting the Mariners over anybody right now is that other teams have GM's, the M's have.... Bill Bavasi. It's going to get worse before it gets better.

Well now that Texas has Nolan Ryan watching JD we are a little better off, but the Giants have the worst in Brian Sabean. I don't think it is even a contest. I am really shocked that the Giants have won as many games as they have.

Nice stroke on the Freeway Series. In a perfect world, yes, but this year, no.

MLB Predictions and Playoffs

I am shocked you think the Mariners will have a better record than the Rangers. That would be OK if you made these picks 2 months ago. Not anymore. The Rangers haven't lost a series since they got swept by the Red Sox and Tigers. That is 9 straight series they have won.
