Prayers

A place to encourage members of the CBS Community who come here voluntarily to share positive messages, lift up injured athletes and other important persons in our lives, honor those athletes and individuals who express their faith, and provide support to Community members who seek it in time of need.  Isn't that what a Community does?

This is not a place of debate.  It is a place for positive interaction and assistance to Community members who want to talk sports without obscenities and share hope for our personal growth.

Prayers

Hello, good people. It's been a while. They have started deleteing my VODs as well. I don't know how much longer I'll be able to keep my blog site running. Keep the faith and stay strong.

Prayers

Sis, so good that your mom is healing, PTL.  I am glad that no bleeding ulcers were found, but will keep you in prayer for complete healing as well as continue to pray for your mom.

Things have calmed down a little on the Prayers thread so you might want to go there also

All prayers and posters are lifted up

Have a great and blessed weekend

Prayers

Greetings to all of you and peace in the name of Christ.

Mom's face is healing, but she is still having nightmares about the surgery.  She was scheduled to have the other side of her face operated on for cancer next week, but she had me cancel.  She has had about all the stress she can handle at 85.  The ulcers on her leg are healing, and I am working hard to prevent more from forming through daily care and bandaging and pressure wraps.

I had an endoscopy last week and no bleeding ulcers were found, but the entire GI tract lining is inflamed so biopsies were taken.  I get the results in about 10 days.  The doctor thinks that my pancreas is involved in causing the problem; pancreatic cancer runs in my family so I expect more tests.  I am confident that our Lord is with me and with Mom every step of this challenge.

Praying for all of you!

Sis

Prayers

Today's devotional:

"Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to Thy mercy remember Thou me for Thy goodness' sake, O Lord."
Psalm 25:7

Perry had paid the penalty a thousand times. The guilt that he carried with him gnawed away constantly. When he was teenager, he had foolishly tossed a firecracker at a friend of his, to scare him. The explosive had gone off in his friend's face, blinding him. Perry played the scene over and over in his mind, even though many years had passed. His friend had forgiven him, and he had even asked forgiveness from God. His pastor told him that the sin was forgiven, but Perry just couldn't forgive himself.

Who are we to hold onto past sins when our Lord has forgiven and forgotten them? As long as we're human, we will have pasts filled with sins abundant. To dwell on them is to make ourselves less than God wants us to be. Ask forgiveness from the Lord, receive it, and move forward in the glory of God's grace. Your sins are forgiven, indeed!

Father, Teach me to let go of the things I have done wrong in the past.  Lord, cleanse me and prepare me for the wonderful life that is to come. May I learn from my mistakes and grow from them, without allowing them to control my life, O Lord. Amen.

Prayers

Mom has the doctor's approval to remove the bandages from her face.  I still have to massage the incisions and skin grafts with vaseline frequently throughout the day, but the healing has started.  She is still having nightmares about the 2 1/2 hour surgery done under a local, and I know she is going to cancel the surgery scheduled next month on the left side of her face.  She has cancer on her arms and legs as well so I can't say I blame her now that we know there is no way to tell how deep into the surrounding tissue a small surface lesion can go.  I know she will not consent to the bypass either so we are prepared to continue treating the venous ulcers that appear on the leg that has no circulation.

In the midst of all this, my ulcers are bleeding so I am scheduled for surgery Tuesday.  I will call Mom's doctors Monday and arrange proper nursing care for her while I am out of it.  It should only be a few days.  I'm living on soup and jello (yum!) and lost 5 pounds in a week.

Your prayers would be greatly appreciated!  I know God has gotten us through worse than this so I'm not worried.  He holds us all in His mighty, righteous hand and none can take us away from Him.  He will never leave us or forsake us!  Praise our Lord Jesus Christ!

Prayers

Today's devotional spoke so perfectly to our purpose of the Prayer thread that I thought I'd share it.  Thank you all so much and may our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be more real and powerful in your lives each and every day.

"Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog."
Psalm 22:20

Perhaps the most pleasing prayer that we offer to God is the prayer that we pray for someone else. A prayer for another person is an unselfish and caring act. It takes the trust we have in God and extends it outward in behalf of other people. It is an example of how we can walk in the footsteps of Jesus. Certainly, God wants us to pray for our personal needs, but we enter into His ministry and love when we send forth our prayers in the names of others.

Hear the concerns of my heart, Almighty God. I care for so many people, and I want to lift them up to Your care. Be with them and give them the blessings that You continue to give to me. Make Yourself real in their lives, Lord, in Jesus' precious name, Amen.
