Prayers

A place to encourage members of the CBS Community who come here voluntarily to share positive messages, lift up injured athletes and other important persons in our lives, honor those athletes and individuals who express their faith, and provide support to Community members who seek it in time of need.  Isn't that what a Community does?

This is not a place of debate.  It is a place for positive interaction and assistance to Community members who want to talk sports without obscenities and share hope for our personal growth.

Still no word on Gabriel. He has been missing for over a week now. Hope is fading. Please dont stop praying fo him and his two partners. All three of them are missing in Mexico. thank you.

cubansajoke,Gabriel and his partners are in my prayers.

Sis, you do look good in black.  If the worst persecution we get is low scores and avatars removed we are doing OK.

Stu, good to see you changed churches.  God's word is not a buffet where you can pick and chose your meal, you have to eat everything on your plate

God bless

Prayers

Hi Stu, like my new look? hehe  Too many churches have disposed of the Bible in favor of larger weekly donations gathered because everyone is happy in the weekly talent show.  They should read the seven letters to the churches in Revelation.  God bless those churches and pastors who do faithfully teach from the word of God so that Christians know how to properly conduct themselves in love.

Prayers

I will definitely be praying for Gabriel!

All of you have posted some truly amazing stuff. I changed churches recently exactly because the one I previously attended seemed to pick and choose the parts of the Lord's word that was taught. The Minister there told me "Well Stuart, We don't want to make anyone feel bad so we don't talk much about sin here" My answer to him was:

WHAT?

Terry has described this to me pretty accurately as "John 3:16 and don't forget to sign up for the bake sale!" Social clubs more than Churches!

Michael, thanks for the link.  As you can see, I've already been judged and found wanting (but not by the One who counts!).  Oh well, I look good in black? lol

Cubansajoke, very sad news.  I will continue to pray for Gabriel and his partners.  Mexico and the border area are frightening places right now.  May God protect them and return them safely.  May He give peace and comfort to those who await their return.  God bless you and please keep us informed.

VOD 02/24/09: Thank You For Your Mercy

VERSE:
Ephesians 2:4-5
But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (KJV)

THOUGHT:
I cannot think of anything more I'd prefer the Holy God to be rich in than mercy. We know our failures, shortcomings, sins, and transgressions. Without His mercy to pardon, and without His grace to send Jesus to pardon at first, we would be lost and without God. Now, because of His rich mercy, our lives are tied to Jesus' future and not the one we earned for ourselves.

PRAYER:
Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings. Thank You for extending grace when we have not deserved it. Thank You for giving mercy when we most needed it. May our wealth be found in mercy and grace much more than money and gold. Help us to be more like You in all that we say and do.
We pray these things in the name of Your most Holy Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and blessed day
May God Bless.
Michael

I agree - It is really frightening to truly consider our hearts - Not in a cursory sense....BUT TO TRULY LOOK DEEP INSIDE ...

Peace to all - Prayers for all -Just remember that God is in control

Mark, it sounds like a great message.  It is a shame that the church has gotten away from teaching repentance and turning away from sin and the world because it might offend somebody.  I think that folks will be more offended on Judgement day if the Lord says I don't know you.

Matthew 7:21-23 NIV

21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

God bless
