Prayers

A place to encourage members of the CBS Community who come here voluntarily to share positive messages, lift up injured athletes and other important persons in our lives, honor those athletes and individuals who express their faith, and provide support to Community members who seek it in time of need.  Isn't that what a Community does?

This is not a place of debate.  It is a place for positive interaction and assistance to Community members who want to talk sports without obscenities and share hope for our personal growth.

Prayers

Wow -

I just got home from a very special meeting at Church - We had Bishop Wellington Boone in the house tonight - I was in the midst of a modern day prophet -

His teachings centered on truly repenting and growing up - His question was " Do you think Jesus will allow all your stuff in heaven" "Do you really think that he will have a bunch of nonsense and sin in his heaven" - "Stop looking for his hand and look to his ways to help you reach new and unprecendented levels so that you can go from the need side to the supply side" " The more I grow in God the more I see how he cares about very little things"..."the more I see how he holds me accountable for little things" ... "the more I see how he DEMANDS MORE of me".....WOW

Praise God -

I Love and pray for all here -

Prayers

I would like  to ask for prayers for an unfortunate event we had up here today.  Some children were playing on the ice on the lake, and a 5 year old girl fell through.
Terry,

My prayers have been with them since you told me about this Saturday night! Has  there an update  on the condition of those hospitalized since then?

VOD 02/23/09: You Need Not Fear

VERSE:
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (KJV)

THOUGHT:
What is there to fear if God sent His Son to die to redeem us? What is there to fear if we cannot be separated from the love God has for us in Christ Jesus? What is there to fear except ourselves? As we love God and His children, we are reminded by His love for us, which is far better than our meager love for others. Rather than run from Him in fear, we bow before Him in thanks, knowing that He who hears our prayers is also He who loves us and stops our fears.

PRAYER:
Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this Day and all of Your blessings. Loving Father, thank You that we can revere You without fearing Your wrath. Thank You that we can revere Your word and yet not be terrified by our inadequacies. May Your love in us produce a closer likeness to Your holiness, righteousness, justice, and mercy than all the laws, threats, and judges combined.
We ask these things in the name of Your most Holy Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and blessed day.
May God Bless.
Michael

Prayers

Hey Sissy...

After evening services tonight I came back and re-read your post. That is exactly the sermon Gerald preached tonight. Great message.

Prayers

Psalm 19:14
"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.":

God is interested in both the words of our mouths and the deepest ponderings of our hearts. To appear Christlike on the surface is never enough. To be Christlike at the core of our being, that is the key.

Prayer:
God, I want to be a Christian to the very depths of my being. Search my heart, and transform it. Let Your love reign in me. Amen.

VOD 02/22/09: It’s All About Him

VERSE:
1 Timothy 6:18-19   Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. (NIV)

THOUGHT:
Paul is writing to believers here, and he is not saying they must do this so that they can get saved. Rather, he is saying that when they are rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, then they will lay hold on what eternal life is all about. It is not about the things you possess; it is not about the blessings God gives you. It is about a relationship with Him. If you are blessed, realize the main thing is not your riches and wealth. They can be very transitory. Friends, keep your eyes on God and keep your trust anchored in Him. He is what life-real life-eternal life is all about!

PRAYER:
Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings. Lord, let us not forget from where our blessings come. Guide us throughout the day to set a good example of how one should conduct themselves in regards to work, family, and worship. Keep our faith and trust in You strong, for because of You, we are who we are, and will be.
We ask these things in the name of Your most Holy Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to all. My thoughts and prayers are with you today for a safe and blessed day.

May God Bless.

Prayers

I am sorry to report that the second rescuer died tonight and the 5 year old girl and two others involved have been hospitalized.  There is no identification of who the two others are or any medical info on the condition of the three who have since been hospitalized.  Please pray that the Lord would comfort the friends and family of the two men who died today in the ice rescue and pray for healing for the three, including the little girl, who are hospitalized.  May God bless the souls of the men who gave their lives to save the little girl.

Prayers

Good evening Sissy and others.

Sissy, of course all those involved will be in my prayers. I informed those on the 'Prayer' thread of the situation and asked for their prayers as well. It is indeed a trajedy when something such as this happens.

As far as my Pastor and the Asst, Pastor goes, I'll have a better informed update tomorrow. I won't know until then if Robert (A/P) will be back or if I will get to teach. So far the feedback I have been getting has all been positive, including the Pastor (Gerald) implying that he may want me to conduct the Wednesday night service on occasion. At last report, he was doing fine.

May God Bless.

Prayers

Please pray for the family and friends and coworkers of the rescuer who died on the scene, for the rescuer who is critical in the hospital and his family and friends and coworkers, and for the kids involved.  This was an horrific scene on the lake here today.

Sis, they are in my prayers.

Jack
