Prayers

A place to encourage members of the CBS Community who come here voluntarily to share positive messages, lift up injured athletes and other important persons in our lives, honor those athletes and individuals who express their faith, and provide support to Community members who seek it in time of need.  Isn't that what a Community does?

This is not a place of debate.  It is a place for positive interaction and assistance to Community members who want to talk sports without obscenities and share hope for our personal growth.

VOD 02/20/09: Untrustworthy Gains

VERSE:
Proverbs 11:28  He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. (KJV)

THOUGHT:
Solomon is giving us an important warning: He who trusts in his riches will fall. Why does he tell us this? Because it is our natural tendency, when prosperity comes, to trust in that prosperity and to have that become our source of security. There is a tendency in every human heart to do just that, and that is why God warns us; if the blessing comes, if prosperity comes, if you achieve a degree of success, do not set your heart on the wealth. Instead, make sure your trust remains in God because riches are not trustworthy. If you trust in your wealth, you will fall! Put your trust in God…who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. (1 Timothy 6:17)(KJV)

PRAYER:
Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your Blessings. In these troubled times help us to remember that whatever gains we may obtain on our own are only temporary. The only gains that we can trust in are the blessings that Your loving kindness bestows on us. Bless us, Father, and bless those which may be less fortunate as ourselves.
We ask these things in the name of Your most Holy Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Prayers

So good to see everyone here.  God is good and His mercy endures forever!

I heard from our sister Anita and her MRI showed much bone and soft tissue damage and cysts in her hips, knees, back, and legs.  She was rescheduled for the first knee replacement surgery March 5.  I don't know yet if the MRI results will change that.  She is in a great deal of pain but is trusting in God to endure and determine her course.  Please keep her in prayer.

Blessings to you all.  I will try to post more soon.

Be God's

Sissy

Prayers

Jesus loves us so much- His presence and his touch are  most precious - I pray that everyone reading this post will seek his face -

My Pastor likes to talk about " crumb snatchers" - Visualize if you can a dog that patiently waits for crumbs to fall from the table so that he gets to eat a small morsel - somtimes he gets licky and sometimes not - Either way he is happy and wagging his tail - We should all be crumb snatchers of the word....looking for "nuggets " that fall from the Masters table - There is a verse in the text where, I believe a Samaratan woman asks Jesus for help -  He basically calls her out for being unworthy....she then tells Jesus that even the dogs look for crumbs from the Masters table...He rewards her perserverance and Faith and finally HONORS HER REQUEST......

Hang in there. Ask Jesus. Be persistent. Be Faithful

I pray for all the requests being offered here in this thread Lord Jesus - You know each person and each need - Lord your will be done - Where you see fit for a miracle, we ask for your miracle - You are more than able to provide ANYTHING...You arm is not to short that it will not extend and bring hope, healing, and peace. We Love you Jesus - You are our all in all -

It is so easy to read the word and become judgemental of the Jews and the disciples and so forth.....Let us all be humble and realize that it was our sin that nailed Jesus to the cross - Be humble before God and let him be God - Do your part...Worship him, seek him First, Pray about everything and worry about nothing - Live on purpose

Much love to all the Saints..

Tony  - you are in my thoughts and prayers Brother....KNOW THAT!!!

Prayers

Greetings my Brothers and Sisters!

Michael, I don't believe I have ever expressed my thanks to you for posting the "Scripture of the Day" so faithfully. Please accept my apologies for that omission. Many times the scriptures you cite have lead off my nightly Bible Study. I also like to read the chapter my Pastor will be covering this coming Sunday!

Love to you all!

VOD 02/19/09: Only Temporary

VERSE:
Proverbs 23:5    Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. (KJV)

THOUGHT:
Does it ever seem to you that your money has wings? That it just flies off more quickly than you would have ever imagined? Money can be very temporary, very transitory in nature. You need to understand that wealth is temporary just like our time here is temporary. What are the implications for how we live our lives? As believers, it is so important for us to have a pilgrim mindset and realize that we are just passing through. This world is not our home. This life is a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. If you begin to think that somehow things are permanent, and you plan as if it is all permanent, you are going to get off course in your life with God. If you put Him first, and live your life as such, prosperity will surely follow.

PRAYER:
Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for today and all of Your blessings. Help us to continually remember that this life is only fleeting and that we need to prepare ourselves for the eternal life that awaits us. Never let us forget that You are the God of worship, not money or power as they are only temporary and You are forever.
We ask these things in the name of Your most Holy Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to all. I hope you have a safe and blessed day.

May God Bless.

Michael
