Prayers

A place to encourage members of the CBS Community who come here voluntarily to share positive messages, lift up injured athletes and other important persons in our lives, honor those athletes and individuals who express their faith, and provide support to Community members who seek it in time of need.  Isn't that what a Community does?

This is not a place of debate.  It is a place for positive interaction and assistance to Community members who want to talk sports without obscenities and share hope for our personal growth.

Prayers

The American Center for Law and Justice has been following this case.  They have a petition to release Pastor Youcef and another to encourage our Congress and President to take a stand to free him.  This is Pastor Youcef's second trial for blasphemy so I wonder if Iran will just move him to some secluded never-to-be-seen-again location like China did with Attorney Gao (who is alive in a very remote area of China, his family has found him and had contact through Voice of the Martyrs).  I pray Pastor Youcef is spared, but our Christian brothers and sisters in hostile nations meet with persecution daily.  God, please intervene on behalf of Your servant to spare his life and spare him any further suffering, in Jesus' name.

Prayers

ALERT- We need urgent prayer for this courageous pastor in Iran who is under death sentence for trusting in Christ for his salvation converting from Islam.  It gives the lie to the false premise that Islam as practiced in most of the Islamic world is as loving and tolerant as Judaism and Christianity.  We need to lift up our brother as he faces death for nothing other than exercising his faith in Jesus.  He has two young children and a wife who must be suffering greatly.

Father, we lift up this brother.  We selfishly ask that You move to spare his life, and that he not be martyred.  His loving wife and children need You now.  We just humbly request that You reach out Your mighty Right Arm and vindicate Your Name before these wicked, demonic men who pretend to serve god.  Show them the Living God's power.  We ask in the Blessed Name of the Living Christ.  Amen.

Prayers

Psalm 19:14
"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer."

It is not enough that we try to put on a good front when we are around people. We need to search our hearts for reconciliation and forgiveness. We need to follow Christ, who heals all hurts and is the source of all patience and tolerance. God is interested in both the words of our mouths and the deepest ponderings of our hearts. To appear Christlike on the surface is never enough. To be Christlike at the core of our being, that is the key.  We will fall short often yet we will be forgiven if we confess our sins.  So persist on your walk with God and let Him work your heart into what He designed you to be.

Prayer:
Creator, God, I want to be a Christian to the very depths of my being. Search my heart, and transform it. Let love reign. I entrust my development to You as You re-make me according to Your will for Your glory.  Let me be a blessing to others.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Prayers

Thought we would resume here for a while.

Psalm 20:7
"Some trust in chariots, and some is horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God."

The simple faith of a single man or woman is a mighty thing. As I watch my mother's faith get her through one biopsy after another, one surgery after another, I am touched by her endurance as she trusts in the Lord.  At 85, she has been a model of the strength that trusting Jesus can bring.  Trust in the Lord, and you will marvel at all that can be done.

Prayer:

Make me faithful, Lord, I doubt so often, and I put my faith in other things. Those things will pass away, but I know that You will endure forever. Thanks be to Your love and grace. Amen.
