Prayers

Posted on: February 17, 2009 3:11 am

A place to encourage members of the CBS Community who come here voluntarily to share positive messages, lift up injured athletes and other important persons in our lives, honor those athletes and individuals who express their faith, and provide support to Community members who seek it in time of need.  Isn't that what a Community does?

This is not a place of debate.  It is a place for positive interaction and assistance to Community members who want to talk sports without obscenities and share hope for our personal growth.

VOD 03/11/09: A Covenant of Love

Verse:

Deuteronomy 7:9
The Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands. (NIV)

Thought:

God is faithful and His covenant is a covenant of love. He will not forsake us and will treat us better than we deserve just as a loving parent treats rebellious children better than they deserve. But our hearts must be tuned to honor God as God, not as just a good luck charm or a weekly guest into our otherwise busy lives. What we do must be done in awareness that it is done before and for Him.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings. Thank You for loving us so sacrificially and steadfastly. Thank You for the way You preserved Your promises to the Israelites and brought Jesus just as You promised. We trust Your promise to send Him back to bring us home to You. Please receive the deeds and words of this day as our thanks to You for Your covenant of love with us and those we love.
We pray these things in the name of Your most Holy Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and blessed day.
May God Bless.
Michael

VOD 03/10/09: Leaning Is Not A Weakness

Verse:

Proverbs 26:12    Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him. (KJV)

Thought:

Leaning does not come easily to most of us. Today's culture lifts up personal independence as such a virtue that we have developed an "I can do it myself" mentality. We often see leaning as a sign of weakness. It is OK to lean: In fact, according to the Bible, if we are wise we will recognize our need for God's help. And sometimes He sends that help through other people. Are you dealing with a challenge or a problem that is causing you frustration and stress? It's a sign of wisdom, not weakness, to ask God for help.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
We have always wanted to feel that we could handle whatever life brings us on our own. We recognize now what a mistake that has been and ask for Your help in our lives. Guide us through our days; show us how to handle our daily situations with wisdom and understanding.
We pray these things in the name of Your most Holy Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to all. I would like to thank the ones who wished us well on our trip. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and blessed day.
May God Bless.
Michael

Prayers

I have returned from a LRRPs mission to find that the house is still in order, but it has been moved. I have also found that my kitty in the food pan and several iconic represetations of the Savior and of God will have to be removed from the Communist Broadcast System. I am sure that my tired cat was offensive and thus had to be removed. Why the avatars that have religious background had to be removed is primarily because they are 'dangerous' to the powers that be. What a load of fertilizer. Let CBS be cast upon the midden heap of history, for their useless attempt to quash those who believe in favor of those who are sipping at the well of deceit. How transparent this is to anyone who sees the garbage they palm off as concern for their dear subscribers. Somehow I think we should all pick up and move this house to more solid ground, but then again, where better to have it than within the walls of the fortress of the dark powers of evil and their dupes.

Sorry for the rant after having been away so long, so I guess I had better move back to my seat on the back bench. I really didn't need to go on LRRP's mission, the evil pervades the outside of these walls. I did not have to go far afield. Sorry to go missing in action for so long, but time and tide seems to force us all to do things we do not wish to do.

A quote, if it is allowed, somewhat changed to fit my mood. Dear Communist Broadcasting System and associated dupes, "a
pox on both your houses." Do your really think you will make us run or change our views? You must be more delusional than you would wish we were.

May the Lord continue to bless those who come together in His name, even if it is in the very corner of an extremely hot place. Bless you all who come and believe. may you find peace. To all others, may God forgive you.

ogr pulls his boonie hat down over his eyes as he sits down and growls again from the back bench, then remembers he is in God's house and quickly removes his headgear asking forebearance from the ladies of the house of God.

Prayers

Thanks, Jack.

Me and the Mrs. are going to go see the DeSoto Caverns at Childersburg, AL and basically 'bum' it for the weekend. As our business, apt. rental, is a 24/7 job, we do this every so often to get away from the everyday pressures. I should be back online sometime Monday.

You and yours have a safe and blessed weekend.

VOD 03/06/09: God Has A Plan

Verse:

Isaiah 25:1
O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago. (NIV)

Thought:

God's actions are not reactions to current situations, but part of His long-term plan to bring redemption. Yes, He has done marvelous things: He took the evil intent of a mob who cried "Crucify him" and turned it into an opportunity to fulfill the prophesies and redeem us. He is perfect in faithfulness and has done marvelous things.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings. You surprise us with new wonders and new things daily. Yet deep in our heart we know they are not new to You. Thank You for not making life boring or predictable so we might thirst after You, You who are forever fresh, new, exciting, and marvelous.
We pray these things in the name of Your most Holy Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to all. The Mrs. And I are taking a mini vacation so I’ll be gone for a few days. Our thoughts and prayers will still be with you and yours until our return. Have a safe and blessed weekend.
May God Bless.
Michael
