Red Sox, Nats still waiting on Teixeira, Yanks

The Mark Teixeira derby appears to have come down to the Red Sox and the Nationals, and while Teixeira doesn't appear to have decided yet, the teams are expecting a decision today, according to sources.

The Nationals are believed to be offering more money, as well as a chance for Teixeira to play near his native Maryland. The Red Sox offer a much better chance to win.

The Yankees had been involved with Teixeira, but barring a last-minute change, they don't appear to be a finalist. The same goes for the Orioles, as well as the Angels, who made public their withdrawal from the negotiations on Sunday.

Of course it's their right, and MAYBE...he's considering other factors than just money, but every time there's these long protracted bidding wars with a player waiting and waiting and waiting.....I can't help but think that these guys are the greediest people in the world.

of course he is considering other factors besides money man.  He's Mark texeira, he's gonna get his money no matter what!  He's just seriously weighing out the other factors for sure.

this is great. you have one of the poorest teams in baseball actually in contention with the Red Sox for this stiff. I find this funny as you would thing how great the red sox are as an organization he would run to them. I mean think about it. They treated Clemens great. And don't forget Man Ram, they are best friends still I am sure. And don't forget Wade Boggs. All these guys are running to the hall of fame in red sox gear...NOT.

Tex is torn because there is no more ny, ca or good team out there. He will end up in Boston, unappreciated and miserable. As a Yankee fan, I cannot wait to start laughing.

Go Theo! Go John Henry! Go Larry Lucchino! Get this done please!!!!!

If it's the Nats, he wants to make sure he can opt out after 3 years of losing 90+ games so the Red Sox and Yankees can bid for his $$$$ervice$$$.

What other factors? If he wants to win he goes to the Red Sox. If he wants to go home he plays for the Nationals. Are you kidding me that a couple million dollars make any difference to these guys. We all work our entire lives and never make a million dollars or anything close to it. These guys have such a warped sense of reality. Unfortunately Mark Texeira will be in Boston, unless he is an idiot, which I'm hoping.

Are you an idiot AssMonkey? Boggs is in as a Devil Ray because he took more money for them and agreed to go in...Guy is a scum bag of epic proportions. Shortly after they changed it so that the Hall decides. And you can bet when Manny gets in he will be donning a Sox cap and Clemens, although more of a tossup between the Sox and Yanks, likely will be wearing a B if he ever gets in (doubtful but who knows). The Sox are thought throughout the league as the best run organization, and I think the track record under Henry's ownership speaks for itself.

But hey that geriatric squad you have out there should provide enough offense for another third place finish. Good luck with that.

You are an idot.  The Yankees suck bro...get over it.  Have fun paying ridiculous prices to watch the yankees play in there brand new stadium and finish third place behind the sox and TB because fat @ss C.C can't win a big game and we all know burnett will be hurt before spring camp breaks (carl pavano anyone??).

jealous loser
