Mets' Davis to see doctor in NY

The Mets have sent first baseman Ike Davis back to New York to be examined by team doctors, the team announced today.

Davis suffered what the Mets called a left calf strain when he collided with teammate David Wright in the Mets' Tuesday night win over the Rockies in Denver.

Status Unknown for 2 Months, then shows up for Class A Rehab in Port St Lucie around the All-Star Break--should be ready for the stretch run.
