Top pure passer: Dan Marino Pitt.  Quickest release, great accuracy.  My favorite passing QB i'v ever seen. Great Junior season.

Top dual threat QB: Charlie Ward FSU.  Highest completion % and lowest interception % in FSU history.  Led FSU to its first national championship.  Named one of the 20 greatest all around athletes by ESPN.

Some of the new people didn't know that the requirements were that a player had to graduate in 1970 or after. Therefore, if a player who graduated before then wins the vote he will appear on the team but the player who receives the second most votes also will. Those who graduated before 1970 are marked with (*)astricks(*). If I missed anyone please feel free to let me know.

Thanks for watching my back King of Bling.

The Greatest College Team Needs 2 QBs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Schlesh, I remember that national championship game between Florida St. and Virginia Tech. Mike Vick gave that game away. Sure, he gets credit for making some plays in the second half to make it respectable, but look at his stat line for that game. He gave it away.

The Greatest College Team Needs 2 QBs!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is brutal to read. Where do a couple of you Shakespearean Wordsmith's come up with your comments?
Livin Large is a fan. He started this Blog a while back and made it interesting enough to be the "Featured Blog" in the College Football section. Why don't each of you go write a thesis and spend the next few weeks critiquing each others work. By that time this awesome Blog will be complete.

Usually I'll do a Top-25 "King's List" but there are too many variables to rate the QB's in that much detail IMO...

#1 - Doug Flutie (Boston College) HOF. Heisman Winner. The little man was pure magic at Chestnut Hill. He left as the NCAA career passing leader. Unlike virtually all the other passing leaders, he was not a "system" QB. (BYU, Haw, etc). Who could forget his epic throw to upset mighty Miami in one of the most memorable plays in college football history!
#2 - Jim Plunkett (Stanford) HOF. Heisman Winner. A superb technician, led Stanford to back-to-back Rose Bowls. Held Total Offense record for over 10 years. Again, not a system QB, he was a masterful leader who always made the big play.

#1 - Tommie Frazier (Nebraska) Won back-to-back National Championships for Dr. Tom in Lincoln. Crouch won a Heisman, but Frazier is by far, the Greatest Nebraska QB ever. Future HOFer, Osborne called him the "Perfect Option Quarterback"!
#2 - Vince Young (Texas) Would likely be #1 had he stayed for his Senior year and may have 2 National Tiltles as well. The greatest performer in Rose Bowl history! Just had his jersey #10 retired; only  he and Bobby Layne share that honor as Longhorn QB's.

Alphabetical team listing of other great qb's who were more than one-year wonders (1970-Present):
