The Greatest College Team Needs 2 QBs!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best college player without a heisman is far and away Peyton Manning.  The voters obviously let NFL careers over-shadow college production.  Bo Jackson? Ricky Williams?  Josh Reed?  Where are these guys?

The Greatest College Team Needs 2 QBs!!!!!!!!!!!!

most of the people voting for peyton must have never seen him play college ball. he was always jumpy and never set his feet in the pocket.

it seems like everyone is basing this off what he's done with the Colts.

The Greatest College Team Needs 2 QBs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Condredge Holloway of Tennessee and Jackie Parker of Mississippi State deserve some mention here as great dual-threat QB's .  Possibly forgotten because their pro-years were spent in Canada both had outstanding  NCAA careers that merit consideration.

The Greatest College Team Needs 2 QBs!!!!!!!!!!!!

barefoot serpent,

You will also notice that he misused the word "dual".  He used duel which is a showdown between two people whereas, dual, means two-way threat or more than one.  Anyways, I agree with you!  Journalism at its finest...(sic)

Some of the new people didn't know that the requirements were that a player had to graduate in 1970 or after. Therefore, if a player who graduated before then wins the vote he will appear on the team but the player who receives the second most votes also will. Those who graduated before 1970 are marked with (*)astricks(*). If I missed anyone please feel free to let me know. BTW on the ballet I will change "duel" to "dual."

Thanks to everyone for participation!!!
We do a new position every Tuesday in late morning or early afternoon eastern time.

Wow.  I'm pretty sure you're joking, but just in case you really are that ignorant, let's review Larry Fitzgerald's "under the radar" NCAA resume.

In just two years (26 games) at Pitt, he totaled 161 receptions, 2,677 yards, and 34 touchdowns.  He holds the NCAA record with 18 consecutive games with a receiving touchdown.

His sophomore year in 2003 was among the most prolific seasons by a wide receiver in NCAA history, with 92 receptions for 1,672 yards and 22 (TWENTY-TWO!) touchdowns.  Following that season he was awarded Walter Camp Player of the Year Award (for the best player in college football), the Biletnikoff Award (the best wide receiver in college football), and was a unanimous First Team All-American.  Oh, and he also finished as first runner-up for another award you might have heard of -- the Heisman Trophy.  College football stars don't get more "legitimate" than that...

He was selected 3rd overall in the NFL Draft the following spring.  It's a good thing that the Arizona Cardinals have such good scouts to have uncovered an "unknown" talent that slipped all the way to THIRD OVERALL in the draft.

Ok, stepping down off the soap box, my votes for QB are Charlie Ward and, as much as I hate to say it, Matt Leinart.
