The AP has quotes from Rafael Furcal regarding the Braves negotiations:  "We never, not my agents nor me, agreed to anything with the Braves."

Furcal also revealed Oakland's approach: an initial four-year, $32MM offer, followed by a four-year $35MM offer of the "take it or leave it" variety.

Furcal Comments On Braves

I think the whole situation was dispicable too, but I dont think you want them to burn bridges either.  In an earlier report, they said Furcal's agent is somehow connected to the people that represent Yunel Escobar.  It would be a shame for the Braves to do anything to jeopardize being able to keep a talent such as Escobar solely because this deal with Furcal went sour.  Like I said, I agree with you that its dispicable, just hope the Braves dont burn brides and possibly lose another young talent in another year because of it

Furcal Comments On Braves

Wow and to think I actually liked Furcal when he played for the Braves. I'm sorry but when other agents and GM's have said that a Term Sheet is a "completion of a verbal agreement". His agent stated he requested this document simply to expedite the negotiations and get Furcal to Atlanta as soon as possible for a physical. What that means is he wanted something in writing to take to the Dodgers and give them a chance to beat or match the going rate. Utterly dispicable!! I hope Wren and the Braves do not deal with these agents again. Good Riddance!
