Theo Epstein declined to speak specifically about this year's trade market, but he did give the Union Leader some hints on his plan...

"There are more teams who might be buying, but they're in wait-and-see mode in June," Epstein said. "As it gets closer to the trade deadline, there are more sellers and the teams still in it, instead of maybe buying, they're actively buying."

So, Epstein is trying to figure out who might be buying, but also trying to figure out who might be selling the same thing he's trying to sell.

Boston Red Sox Trade deadline

With the Cleveland Indians losing 5 straight and falling 9 games behind, the Indians will begin to deal many of its star players.  Look for Victor Martinez to wind up in a Red Sox uniform before the All-Star break.  The rumored deal is Martinez for Materson, Lars Anderson and Micheal Bowden.

Cliff Lee, Mark Derossa and Kerry Wood will be moved as well.  Lee will probably end up with the Phillies or Brewers.  Derossa with the Cardinals, and Wood with the Rays.
