The Chicago Sun-Times talked with Cubs rookie pitcher Jeff Samardzija about his decision to play baseball over NFL. Samardzija was an All-America wide receiver with Notre Dame but chose to play baseball instead.
Even with the NFL season starting this week, Samardzija said he has no regrets. ''I'm not like that. I feel like I made a decision, I made the right decision, and on top of that I'm not going back on my word.'' He promised publicly when he signed his $10 million Cubs deal to give back the money if he bailed on baseball for the NFL.
