Giants second baseman Sanchez unlikely for opener

Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News is reporting San Francisco second baseman Freddy Sanchez is unlikely to be ready for opening day on April 5 against the Houston Astros.

Sanchez is recovering from surgery to his left shoulder.

Sanchez hit .293 last season, while hitting seven home runs and 41 RBI for the Giants and Pittsburgh Pirates last season.
