The Seattle Times is reporting Mariners closer David Aardsma injured his groin in Thursday's spring training game, but shouldn't miss much time.

"We don't think it's very serious and he might miss one outing hopefully and that's it," manager Don Wakamatsu told the Times.. "It was the very last pitch and he felt something in his groin. Hopefully, we caught it before it gets to be anything serious."

The right-hander pitched the third inning, walking Yorvit Torrealba to open the frame before inducing Everth Cabrera into a double-play groundout and an inning-ending groundout by Tony Gwynn Jr.

Aardsma saved 38 games last season after taking over the closer role from Brandon Morrow in mid-May.
