C.C. Sabathia Rumors

If i were the Indians I would do that deal yesterday

CC & Blake  for Weeks / Gamal / Hall / Gwynn Jr

The only hang up I could see is the Indians will want at Least an A ball Pitchering prospect like

These guys with A ball West Virginia Power

Evan Anundsen

Mike Ramlow

Rob Bryson

But from what I hear They are set on bringing back at least some sort of pitcher prospect that would be a couple 2 or 3 years away.

C.C. Sabathia Rumors

I think the possible Sabathia for Longoria trade is for real.  If you are the Rays, you might consider if you are trying to make the postseason for several reasons: (1) Longoria is not key the Rays offense.  Blake would provide enough offensive for them not to miss a beat. (2) if you want to be successful in the post season, you need two dominate pitchers.  Kasmir and Sabathia would be tough to face back-to-back. (3) the Rays have a ton of minor league pitching talent to aquire a 3B of the future (Headley, LaRoche).

From what I am hearing, Shapirio has already decided to trade CC no matter what the Indians do.  He is just working the phones, waiting for a couple of more injuries, before he finds the best deal.  Shapiro is looking at CC much like the Twins looked at Santana.  Great pitching, but too expensive for a mid-market team.  Plus, the Indians can get the help they need in position players.

Still do not count out the Brewers, Dodgers and Cardinals.  I would say the Cardinals are a more likely to do a deal than the Brewers.  It is highly unlikely the Indians do anything with the Yankees.

C.C. Sabathia Rumors

I'd be happy if we had anybody at 3B but Blake. I like the speculation of a trade with the Rays, however, I'd like a deal involving Kazmir and Upton.

C.C. Sabathia Rumors

I believe that Sabathia will get dealt but I find it hard to believe that a team with an incredibly talented, young core like the Rays would trade for him.  The only reason rumors of Sabathia for Longoria are going around Cleveland is because every Indians fan would cream themselves if they got Longoria.  Sorry Tribe, keep dreaming.

C.C. Sabathia Rumors

CC Sabathia will be traded before the the All-Star game even if the Indians are less than 5 games back.  GM, Mark Shapiro knows that it is unlikely CC's agent will agree to a contract without having a price war in the free agent market.  Thus, Shapiro knows that he has to deal CC now to ensure the Indians are competitive for years to come.  It would be a major mistake to keep Sabathia, and only get Type A draft picks.

The Indians primary interest are teams with young offensive players.  So that excludes the Red Sox, Yankee's and most likely the Cubs.  The Cardinals, Brewers, Rays, and Angels are the most likely teams to get a shot at CC.

Cardinals: Rasmus, Anderson, Perez

Brewers: Gallarado, Gamel, LaPorta, Weeks

Rays: Longoria, Price, Baldelli

Angels: Weaver, Kendrick, Wood, Mathis

It is uncertain if the Cardinals will make the push for a big time player.  But the Cardinals GM knows what a CC Sabathia can do for them for seasons to come and would be willing trade some of best young talent.  The Rays have hung in the race and may also try to make a run at the post season.  The Rays have plenty of minor league pitching talent, but the Indians need feilders.  Rumors have surfaced in Cleveland of a CC Sabathia, Casey Blake for Longoria and Price, as well as, Gallardo, LaPorta and Gamel.  A deal with the Brewers makes sense, but both the Indians and Brewers have some concerns.  The Brewers are not sure if they are in the race and are already worried about losing Ben Sheets to free agnecy.  Although his name has surfaced in rumors, the Brewers are not very interested in moving Weeks.  The Indians like the upside of Gallardo, but are concerned about his latest injury.  But if the Brewers do make a run, they will be interest in Blake to help out defensively.  One trade is Sabathia, Blake, and Barfield for LaPorta, Gamel, Weeks, and Hall.
