Odds And Ends: Myers, Bonds

Who wants a closer that constantly gives up home runs?  Myers is scared to throw his fastball because there's nothing on it.  Putting him in the pen for a while is probably the right move, but making him a closer is a mistake, especially with the way Lidge has been dominating.

They could toss him in the bullpen and call up Carrasco.  Look at what putting some youth in the rotation did for the Rockies last year.

Also, I'm convinced the Yankees are just promoting and demoting Igawa in the hopes that eventually he won't pass through waivers :P

Ok. No doubt.  Myers has been bad, despite some good starts.  But thats be fair.  The Phillies can not mkae up there minds.  Starter.  Closer. Starter.  Give the guy a break.  Give him some time to get back to be a starting pitcher.  Way to eariler to pull the plug on him as a starter.  Myers has the talent to be a dominating starter.  Plus, who do the Phillies have to replace and, please, do not say they are going after Sabathia.  The Phillies do not have the talent pool to acquire him.

Am I missing something here? Myers was dominant as a closer last year, and he even says he's much better in that role. Why don't the Phils a) offer him to a contender that needs a closer and has pitching to trade, like...the Tigers !?!?!?!?!, or b) trade Brad Lidge and make Myers the closer again?
