Reds Interested In Nelson Cruz?

According to MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan, the Reds may pursue Rangers' outfielder Nelson Cruz to replace Ken Griffey Jr. in right field.

Cruz, 28, is hitting a ridiculous .345/.436/.716 with 37 home runs in 97 minor league games.  Of course, this is his fourth shot at Triple A.

Wouldn't Hairston be considered the third OF upon his activation?

Reds Interested In Nelson Cruz?

Cruz has been given a couple of opportunities to hit in Arlington but never was able to transfer his hitting from AAA to the big leagues.  The Rangers are deep in the outfield and can afford to trade Cruz.  I would be interested to know what the Reds are offering up for Cruz.  I would like to see Cruz be successful.  I was fortunate to see him play a couple of weeks ago when he belted three bombs in one game.  Two to centerfield and the other out of the park, hit the parking garage, in left field.

I have found recently, that if a guy hits this crazily in triple A, no matter what age, he WILL be productive in the majors.  Too many times these guys who are hitting like Babe Ruth in AAA, are not given a chance simply beause they are getting up in prospect age...look at Ryan Ludwick, Jack Cust, and what they did when given a chance.
