RFG's Eliminator League Week 9

Alright, another session is over with a bang, as Mark Martin finally won his first race in 97 races. Great job to him, but since he had a +20 handicap, those that chose him jumped in the standings, 3 people, Uscfannv, me, and Fsu1dogs, who once again got a winner, now has the titles of: having the most winning drivers so far, having winners in 2 consecutive races, and having the highest score in the league, so far, and probably ever, with two winners, both drivers leading the most laps, and a +20 handicap all to go with that, it will be nearly impossible to break a record such as that, really great job Fsu1dogs, his score will show above 400 here, and the rest of the standings. Also uscfannv and I got the max record possible (w/o handicaps, it maybe impossible to reach those scores too.) This really just goes to show how overinflated Martin is right now, and you have 1 more session to cash in on it.

1.) Fsu1dogs- 410 (also first in 400 club, and maybe the last)

2-3.) Uscfannv and Roushfenwayguy- 390

4.) Tenacfan- 330

5.) Bradman- 310

6-8.) Floridawhite, Tigersman, and M56nascar- 304

9.) Spikesgator- 299

10.) Bondkbond- 272

11.) Chicagolaw- 263

12.) Superjags- 258

13.) Edwardsfan- 228

14.) Section- 215

15.) Mikeyfan- 213

16.) Berlyn- 205

17.) Tobasco Kat- 196

18.) Plaid- 193

So plaid came within one position whithin Tobasco Kat, if Carl finished 9th instead of 10th, Tobasco Kat would be going home, its sad to see Plaid be the first one to go home, but it would be sad to see pretty much anyone go home. But this really shows how much just 1 position makes, and that winning sessions, and handicaps, those little points can end up being huge, and saving you from elimination. Berlyn will also need to come in this week to make sure she doesn't get another michael waltrip pick, lol.

Handicap list again:

+10 handicap

Michael Waltrip

David Stremme

Bobby LaBonte

Marcos Ambrose

Casey Mears

David Ragan

Ryan Newman

Jaime McMurray

+20 handicap

Reed Sorenson

Robby Gordon

Mark Martin

Sam Hornish Jr.

John Andretti

Joey Logano

Scott Speed

Aric Almirola

+30 handicap

Anyone not in the top 35 after the first 5 races, some on the list including David Gilliland, Paul Menard, and Dave Blaney.

This is the win column, with Fsu in the lead, and 2 new entrants to the huge 1 win tie.

Fsu1dogs- 3

Bondkbond- 2

M56nascar, Mikeyfan, Spikesgator, Floridawhite, Chicagolaw, Edwardsfan, Roushfenwayguy, Uscfannv and Superjags=1

And remember, if Jimmie Johnson, Kurt or Tony (though I think only Jimmie was chosen, as well as Clint.) For the bonus, you still might be able to get it, especially if Gordon crashes here.

Here is where this week's picks will go: I decided to go with Kurt Busch, since he has the best overall finish here, is probably the biggest improvement this year, and got second at Daytona last year, something tells me that its finally time for another Talladega win for Kurt.

Fsu1dogs- Tony Stewart (+10 on any pick)

Uscfannv- Tony Stewart (RFG autopick)

Roushfenwayguy- Kurt Busch

Tenacfan- Tony Stewart

Bradman- Denny Hamlin

Floridawhite- Mark Martin (+20 handicap)

Tigersman- Kyle Busch (RFG autopick)

M56nascar- Mark Martin (+20 handicap)

Spikesgator- Kyle Busch

Bondkbond- Matt Kenseth

Chicagolaw- Clint Bowyer

Superjags- Tony Stewart

Edwardsfan- Jimmie Johnson

Section- Jeff Gordon

Mikeyfan- Michael Waltrip (+10 handicap)

Berlyn- Tony Stewart

Tobasco Kat- Jeff Gordon (RFG autopick)

Common Selections:

Tony Stewart- 5

Mark Martin- 2

Jeff Gordon- 2

Kyle Busch- 2

Just goes to show what picking Crazy Carl can do for you!! LOL

RFG...Thanks for the game and I hope you have it next year as well. Good luck to all the remaining players.

By the way, Smoke gets his first win as an owner this week!!

Well Plaid, it wasn't your Carl Edwards pick that killed you, he gained you almost 50 points, the killer was that Jaime had an engine go down I believe, and he is a great driver at Texas, it was bad luck that brought down the Plaid. And Smoke gets his first win... possibly, but I would bet my money on Walkins Glen for that title.

Super is going with Tony Stewart. Takes a car, chevys are good in restricted plate racing, since they put the plates on the cars to slow down the Fords.
and a driver with , well, "ability", to keep it clean. That would be smoke. Even Kyle doesn't want to be around Tony at the end if he has a chance to win.
The only driver that could beat Tony in that situation would've been kvapil , but he's not here to to dominate. Sealed

Nice job to all the folks at the top.  Gotta step up my game and get back up there again.  That said, I'll think outside the box and go with Clint Bowyer in the #33 Cheerios Chevy.
