Rampage's Week 1 Ballot

1. Georgia - Looked dominant, though it was agianst Ga Southern…

2. Ohio State - No Beanie is a serious blow, never heard the ‘Shoe quieter

3. Southern California - Made UVA look like a D2 school

4. Florida - took a little while to heat up, but beat Hawaii like we thought they would

5. Oklahoma- do you really need to score 50 in a half against a D2 school?

6. Missouri- Would ahve moved up if they didn’t almost blow a 25 point lead, still, great win, especailly with the shutdown of Illinois running game.

7. Wisconsin - usual slow start, though a solid win over a decent MAC school

8. Louisiana State - No rebuilding in Baton Rouge, only reloading

9. West Virginia - Good win, though it was over Vilinova, will see what is waht against ECU next week

10. Texas - Beat a good FAU team handily

11. Kansas - we will have to wait til B12 play to see what this team is made of

12. Auburn - punting 5 times against ULM? That’s not a great sign

13. Arizona State - Counting down the days til the bulldogs come to the desert

14. Alabama - Looked FANTASTIC against Clemson, hard to ignore them now

15. Texas Tech - Large numbers, yes, impressed? not at all. They struggled more than the score showed.

16. Brigham Young - good start to a pontential BCS crashing season

17. Fresno State - We knew it would be tough and it was, focus on the next game bulldogs, beat Wiscy

18. East Carolina - 1 down, 3 to go, are you ready WVU?

19. Wake Forest - good solid win in Wacco, the again, who was last person to not get a good solid win in Waco……besides Baylor

20. Penn State - Looked solid in win over CCU

21. Illinois - Mendenhall was greatly missed, -12 rushing yards in the first half, disgusting

22. Clemson - from 8 to 22, yes, they looked THAT bad

23. Virginia Tech - It was the qb play that doomed them against ECU, the Pirates shold have beaten them by much more

24. South Florida - couldn’t keep them out another week

25. Utah - Looked SOLID in win over scUM, though I imagine tat D could make any O look good.

Just missed cut - Oregon, Cincy, Cal, South Carolina (Though I will refuse to rank them because they looked horrible in their beatdown of NCST)

New Arrivals - Penn St, South Florida, Utah

Dropped Out - Michigan St, Pitt, Tennessee

POW - TJ Lee - WR - East Carolina - Blocked a punt and returned it for a TD late in the game in the Pirates' "upset" of the Hokies

Heisman Watch:

1. Tim Tebow -QB - Florida - won't win with those stats, though if the Gators run the table, it would be hard to keep it from him

2. Chris Wells - RB - Ohio State - I'm sure Buckeye Nation is joining me in anticipation of a prognosis

3. Knowshon Moreno - RB - Georgia - will be tested in the desert

4. Sam Bradford - QB - Oklahoma - Sooners could have put 100 on Chat. EASY

5. Chase Daniels - QB - Missouri - Despite a defensive meltdown late, Daniels led the Tigers over a scrappy Illini team

Week 1 TBDPITL Ballot

Badgers ballers, The Pirates have a shot in pulling off another upset against WVU. I said all along that ECU would give the Hokies a run for the money on August 30 th. The Pirate defensive line looks solid. Patrick Pinkney leadership skills at the QB position were unleased in the VA TECH game. Replacing Chis Johnson on offense seemed to be the question of the day coming into the 2008 season. I think in part that that has been answered with a solid performance from runningbacks Brandon Simmins and Jon Williams. The receivers also look to be in good shape with D Harris, Devon Drew and J Bryant. Alot of people have ECU under the radar and thats just how we like it in PIRATE NATION. We are starving for respect and I for one firmly believe after the 2008 season is over with  RESPECT we will have it JIM

Week 1 TBDPITL Ballot

Thanks rampage, WOW number 18 !   The PIRATE NATION want to thank you for all the support you have shown. You are one of the few fans who had us ranked in the top 20. I really feel that the PIRATES will give WVU a run for the money this weekend. The PIRATE NATION will be out in full force in Greenville this coming Sat. It will be a record breaking crowd because of our big win in the Queen City.  Our cannons will be ready to fire, swords will be drawn and the PIRATES WILL TAKE NO PRISONERS. EXPECT WVU to   WALK THE PLANK. jim

Week 1 TBDPITL Ballot

I know that I can hardly wait for Saturday, God, I hope that we pull it off and beat them both. REalistically coming into this year, I thought that we could knock one of our first two opponents off and since we have already done the first one, why cant we do the second one. We cam into the WVU game last year with a lot of bruises and banged up players! I dont know as of yet because the university hasnt released an injury report, but I dont think that we had anybody really banged up or at all to tell you the truth. I think that we are healthy and ready to get the job done a second time. It is at home and we are looking forward to it. WE have to contain Pat and Noel and maybe we can pull this one out too.

Well, that ECU pick makes you look like a genius. Those Pirates have made me a believer. I don't think they'll beat WVU, but they should have a chance.

Week 1 TBDPITL Ballot

hahah, maybe, we'll see. I think I've got you guys in the right place, though anywhere from 20-25 would be good. I thoroughly expect you guys to be getting quite a few votes this time around. I didn't get to watch the game live (I was in the Shoe for our match against YSU), but what I saw was typical opening day mistakes. I expect Holtz to iron it out. That fumble was just a bad bounce. Have fun hosting WVU, I imagine campus and Pirate Nation can't wait for saturday.

Week 1 TBDPITL Ballot

If we beat WVU Rampage, we should be top 15! I agree that we should have won that game by a lot more as well! People are saying that VT played bad an still about won that game! I got news for them! We played kind of bad to! At least our offense did in the first half. I think that if they had not gotten that fumble recovery for a TD, totally different game and we end up beating them by at least 10 or so!
