Worst Month Ever Over !

Posted on: January 31, 2009 9:47 pm

Here we are at January 31st and we have just ended the worst month ever since I started in car , truck , and van sales. For those of you new to this blog , it's about the dash between birth and death. Sometimes it goes way way too fast. This month at the GM dealership that I work at , we laid off 3 experienced successful salespeople and a finance person due to lack of business . Luckily I survived the cut , and we are still open . I know I'm not the only person out there that lost friends at work , and I know how lucky I am to still have a job that I love and am reasonably good doing . Those of us that do still have jobs should thank whatever they believe in and slow down enough to smell the roses . I know how difficult that is with the pressures of quotas , commissions and deadlines , but please don't look around tommorrow at your children and ask yourself when they got so big or worse why you don't know them anymore .

Slow down you move too fast , you got to make the morning last. That was from a song way back when called Feelin' Groovy , I think by the Rascals , but I'm not sure . The message then and the message now are the same , life can pass you by if you don't slow down and live life . Thanks for the outlet . Like all car salespeople , I am an eternal optimist , Febuary is here tomorrow and it's gonna be great !

Worst Month Ever Over !

Is the car business in as big of trouble as the media would have us believe ? If they are in that big of trouble then the country is in bigger trouble than most of us believe. Let us all help the car business recover , " buy a car ".  On the other more serious note , I have two young children and sometimes quotas and business gets in the way of family , don't let it , family first . Oh and slooow dooown. Great Blog terraorca !

Nicely stated Mark. It is important to "slow down and not move to fast". We all have many important things to accomplish each day in the "car" business. As you know, when you work on commission, we are always trying to make the next dollar so we can keep the roofs over our heads and provide for our families as best we can.

I believe it is important when you have kids to take the time to enjoy the task of parenting. It is better to live in the moment, rather than to have to reflect on it.

It is February and I am also an optimist!!! Spring is on the way, but untill it gets here lets make February the best it can be!!!
