**Addition to the ACC Basketball Preview

I was asked to add a little more to this preview.  Here it is.

The ACC was a dominant conference last year, with 7 (I think) NCAA Tourney berths and the National Champion.  There has been a large loss of talent this year.  EVeryone already knows of the losses at UNC.  Also, Jack McClinton and Toney Douglas, stars at lesser known basketball schools, are gone.  I think this will be somewhat of a down year for the ACC because, in my opinon, there is no National Championship or Final Four caliber team.  This is still a great conference, but the ACC will take a backseat to the Big 12 and the Big 10.  This trend will not last long though, and in 2010 there may be 2 or 3 Final Four caliber teams.

**Addition to the ACC Basketball Preview

I agree that this will be a rebuilding year for the ACC with all of the talent lost across the board.  However, do you really think that we will be behind the Big 10 this year?  The ACC has always dominated the Big 10 in the ACC/Big 10 challenge and should again this year.  I agree that he Big 12 will be tough to beat with teams like Kansas loaded up, but I just do not see the ACC having any problems easily winning the Big 10 challenge, dropping at most a game or two.  Is there reason to believe that certain teams in the Big 10 will make it further then the ACC teams because I do not keep up with the Big 10 like I do the ACC.  Michigan State will be descent but the Championship game was nothing short of embarrasing last year and they lost starters from that team.  I might be wrong in thinking this way but does anybody else feel the same way?

Yes, there is reason to believe that Big Ten teams will be better than ACC teams. If the Big Ten doesn't win the challenge, I think it would be a surprise to just about everyone. If the ACC wins all but one or two games, well, that just won't happen, so I won't even throw out a scenario for it. ACC will win four or five games, but the Big Ten will win the challenge. I just don't see how the ACC wins it this year. I've gone over this 100 times, and can honestly say I'm about 95% sure the Big Ten wins it. I previewe the Challenge in my Big Ten Preview if you want to check it out.
