What's your favorite Olympic Sport?

Posted on: August 7, 2008 3:21 pm

The Olympics are cool to me because they have these sports that you won't see anywhere else.  I know many of you blow off the Olympics for football, but give the Olympics a shot!  I'm sure there's something you'll like.

Okay, I'll give a few of the Olympic sports I like and why.

Diving - These people can flip so many times in the air and land with the splash of a coin flipped into a fountain.  Every time I'm thinking, "How did (s)he do that?"

Swimming - The races always are exciting cuz they come down to the very finish.  And Mike Phelps is getting 8 golds!

Gymnastics - The girls can do some cool stuff, but actually the guy's gymnastics is better to me.  They can do some sick stuff, like holding themselves off the ground with one hand.

Track - Straight up races, they're alright.

Basketball - Team USA will dominate for the gold!

Table Tennis - Don't laugh.  These Asian dudes are sick.  Watch this at least once in your lifetime.

Beach Volleyball (women's) - You know why.

Okay, I'd like to hear what YOU like now.

What's your favorite Olympic Sport?

I enjoy watchin' the women's gymnastics (BTW your avi. of Alicia is smokin' ....that chick is FINE !), track and the men's swim team has actually had me more into the Olympics than any year before !  Phelps is phenominal......the Tiger Woods of swimming !  I haven't yelled and pulled for any of the teams as much as the 4 x 100 relay against the French after their smart remarks about "smashin'" the Americans !  That was an awesome come from behind down the stretch for the new World Record !

What's your favorite Olympic Sport?

Okay, after watching the last three days, I've formed my own opinions...

1)  Women's Gymnastics (Team)
2)  Women's Gymnastics (Individual)
3)  Men's Basketball
4)  Men's Track - Sprints
5)  Women's Beach Volleyball
6)  Women's Diving
7)  Men's Weightlifting
8)  Men's Boxing
9)  Men's Soccer
10)  Men's Gymnastics
11)  Women's Swimming
12)  Men's Swimming  (okay, we all watch Michael Phelps... If it weren't for him though...?)
13)  Women's Softball

I just threw that list together.   I need to analyze and switch things around.  Those were the ones that came into my head though...

Swimming, Diving, Soccer, Water Polo (hard to see what's going on but it's such a bizarre sport that it's cool!), Womens Beach Volleyball, Bike Racing (like the Tour de France), Badminton and Table Tennis (you'd think it would be boring but holy crap those guys are good!)

The thing with 400m hurdles is not many realize how hard it is, I run 300m and after the first try your shocked at how tiring it can be.

I also enjoy the hurdle events, especially the 400m hurdles.

And swimming can be very close.

The iron cross in mens gymnastics is very impressive.

Finally women's beach vollyball for the same reasons.
