Brady and the Patriots 2008

With all the celebration and joy around the country among Patriot's Haters, I am interested in seeing what will happen as the season progresses. For instance, what if the Patriots end up 10-6 and win the division? This is not at all unrealistic, given the talent on the team and the talent or lack thereof on the others in the AFC East. I'm sure that if the Patriots win the division, there will be accusations made about more "cheating" or some other ludicrous things. Remember that video taping the opposition is allowed, but only in designated places. The Patriots violated a rule, which is not the same thing as cheating. Roger Goodell even made a clear statement regarding this rule violation, so please stop embarrassing yourselves with calling the Patriots "Cheaters".

The loss of Brady for the season is a huge one. We all can agree on the obvious. However I think it's fair to say that Belichick has earned our trust in his decisions and if he thinks Cassel can do the job, then dammit, he probably can. This IS football after all, not rocket science! Cassel will be asked to manage the game, not win it. Just play within the system and don't screw up. I feel confident that the guy who played the opposing QB in practice for the past 4 years, surrounded by great talent, will be able to manage the game, and let guys like Moss, Welker, Maroney, and Morris make the big plays. Also there's this other component to the team called the DEFENSE, that has never had anything to do with Tom Brady, and they have a lot to do with the outcome of games.

Relax, Patiot fans - things will be better than they look right now.
