Georgia fans will cry in November

After searching my soul over the last 24 hours, and reading the replies from Georgia fans in the thread titled the same as this blog, I've decided to alienate myself even further. With no malice aforethought, just straight facts. Here is my top ten reasons why Georgia will not play for, nor be in contention of the 2008 national championship:

1. Stafford is the 56th rated passer from 2007.

2. Georgia's offense finished 2007 rated 75th in total yards.

3. 85th in first downs?

4. 26th in Penalties? (go figure)

5. The Gators are relentless, and motivated.

6. Sturdivant was the best player on that offense.

7. Road games at LSU and Auburn and Florida   *winks*

8. Tennessee dominates this squad.

9. Motivation shouldn't be done w/ unsportsmanlike acts.

10. Beating Hawaii meant NOTHING.

Georgia fans will cry in November

I have to admit that Georgia has a good team. The greatness predicted by some in the preseason was wishful thinking, with young players on the line and on that D. Stafford has the potential to go to the next level and lighting it up, but he's going to need some maturation and coaching before that can happen. Injuries to this squad made the job and journey much more difficult, but the depth they gained from their misfortune will pay dividends in years to come. The game against Florida was no surprise to me, but as several of my readers can tell you I'm not upset at coach Richt anymore. Coach Meyer rubs me the wrong way when he whines about the unsportsmanlike acts by Georgia last year; yet tacks on a meaningless field goal in the final minute against a dominated Miami. He gets no free pass from me on this type of action; especially after his public tantrum over Richt's teams actions. Better luck next year Dawgs!

Head Coach Mark Richt is becoming a master motivator. His idea for a "black out" against Alabama to try and raise excitement for their game against the Crimson Tide didn't quite work. Unless you were dressing for a funeral. The first half just mercifully ended with his Georgia Bulldogs trailing Alabama 31-0. The tears won't hurt as bad in September, but there is no way Georgia is the SEC or National champion. As I've said since preseason. Maybe it won't be as painful this way? The death of the 2008 season for Georgia.

Today Mark Richt will black out the stadium in a motivational ploy. It's a great idea, and if the results are similar to last years Auburn game, he should be able to motivate his team to a big SEC win over Alabama. It won't  be easy, and the offense had better improve in a hurry  because a game like the South Carolina game might cost them their undefeated dream. I like the Bulldogs to beat Bama in a close game, 23-20.

Your guesses are just that, look at the abilities of the total team not just one person. Your going to have close games, as have all championship teams, your going to have bad days, just as all championship teams, and our going to have bias which evolves in to guess-tamations just like yours. I would recommend you rethink LSU - Georgia will win!! Florida will also fall to GA, and whatcha been smokin to comeup with the GA TECH game!!!!! I would love to have USC or Oklahoma play Georgias schedule!!!! Welcome your comments!!!!

Georgia is pretty weak on pass offense and that comes into play as they start playing the big dogs starting with LSU on 10/25.  Things could change between now and then, but this is what I have for them as of right now:

South Carolina 21 - 12 W

Arizona St. 18 - 13 W

Alabama 15 - 8 W

Tennessee 23 - 18 W

Vanderbilt 11 - 8 W

LSU 6 - 25 L

Florida 24 - 25 L

Kentucky 25 - 20 W

Auburn 11 - 9 W

Georgia Tech 8 - 11 L

UGA fan, I want to go on the record right now and correct a wrong. After watching Urban Meyer calling plays in the final minute to embarrass Miami last night, and then kicking a meaningless field goal in the waning seconds, it tells me that maybe Mark Richt was onto something last year. The Florida Gators will succumb to the karma which is Scorpionbite. And I will no longer mention the acts of the Georgia Bulldogs in that game last year, when they stormed the field in a "staged" celebration and drew a penalty.

Karma is karma; Urban Meyer, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Georgia hosts C. Michigan in a OOC game. This should be a good test for the Dawgs defense....but I don't see enough to concern Dawg fans today. Check out your star recruit QB that I posted ^ ^ ^. Congratulations Coach Richt.
