Vikings vs. Titans Preview.

Posted on: September 24, 2008 5:03 pm

The Minnesota Vikings come into this game at 1-2, while the Tennessee Titans are living the high life at 3-0.  The Vikings come into this game feeling it is a must win thinking how good the Packers have been this season.  So let's look into their gameplan

Offense-  The Vikings need to come into this game thinking run, run, and run some more.  The Titans defense has allowed 89 rushing yards a game and with Adrian Peterson in the Vikings backfield look for him to explode for above 100 yards this Sunday.  Against the Titans Gus Frerotte needs to throw a lot of short passes..Mixing in some deep balls to a guy like Bernard Berrian...Who has the ability to beat the titans corners down field.

Defense-  To knock down this Titans offense,  I think the Vikings should throw a lot of blitzes at this Titans offensive line..Jacksonville did that to the Titans in week one and held the Titans to just 17 points..If the Vikings hold the Titans to 17 or under...They WILL win this game.

Key Player- Adrian Peterson..This guy is bound to have a big game.  He is and should be the leader of this team.. He will get many touches due to their lack of QB's and WR's.  Obviously, a guy with Adrian Petersons talent will be able to produce with each carry he has.  Look for him to have a big week against the Titans in week 4.

Prediction- Vikings 24

Vikings vs. Titans Preview.

Titans come out on time, fairly handily. AP was contained to a large degree, and the passing attack of the Vikings was not nearly enough against a stout Titans defense. Chris Johnson came up big with 2 rushing TD's, and Kerry Collins did enough to lead his team to a W.

4-0.

Vikings vs. Titans Preview.

I understand you're a Jags fan (not a shot at your intellect, but you obviously have a vested interest in this game) but your approach is a bit simplistic, and, to me, reaks of what you want to happen.

Offense-  The Vikings need to come into this game thinking run, run, and run some more.  The Titans defense has allowed 89 rushing yards a game and with in the Vikings backfield look for him to explode for above 100 yards this Sunday.

Yes, they need to run, but don't count on it working. The Jags have a pretty strong rushing game and got completely stifled. Something to think about. Adrian Peterson is really good, and he could have success, but it's not the lock you propose it to be throughout this entry.

That's the part I don't get at all. Why are you so sure AP is going to have a huge game against what has been the best defense in the NFL? Could it happen? Sure. Will it happen? There's no way to be sure, and I don't know why you're acting like you are.

Mixing in some deep balls to a guy like ...Who has the ability to beat the titans corners down field.

Please do.....oh wait, did you say Bernard Berrian? I thought you said Cortland Finnigan? Oh, they're the same thing, I forgot.....

Obviously, I have the same bias you do, but at least I admit there's a chance things might not go my way...

Anyway, good blog. Glad to have a chance to talk Titans football.

Vikings vs. Titans Preview.

I would like to see a little more detail about the teams. I dont think Adrian is the key player of this game. Both teams have different QBs starting then they did at the beginning of the season, have tough defenses, good running games so they are basically mirror images of themselves. Withe that said, the quarterback play will be key in this game. Who can get the ball out quickly as both teams have great blitzers. I hope you will take this as constructive criticism. Good blog
