Arod.  Period. How can you leave off the possibly greatest right hand hitter of all time.  This looks to the probability that he continues to produce in a normal trajectory.  This comes from a Red Sox

-Well, A-Rod is a monster hitter in the regular season, but has been a flop in October.  Plus, how many GGs has he won at third?

-My vote has to go with Mike Schmidt-  a career third baseman with soft hands, cannon arm, great range, and very scary at the plate...

-Honorable mentions?  George Brett, Wade Boggs, and yeah, A-Rod

Arod     &
nbsp;    15 seasons;  553 hrs;  1606 rbis;  578  SLG;  389  OBP;  3 MVPs

Schmidt    18 seasons;  548  hrs;  1595 rbis;  527  SLG;  380  OBP;  3 MVPs

Schmidt was with the best with glove.  That cannot overcome the offense stats of probably 200 more hrs; 500 more rbis.

I'm going to be a Royals homer and vote for George Brett as well.  The Phillies Mike Schmidt was very good, and so was the Orioles Brooks Robinson.  To see, in person at least 200 times, George hustle, play hard even when hurting, and strive every year to get better was remarkable.

Wasn't the Royals George Brett a first time ballot with the highest % votes ever first time into the HOF? I could be wrong. But I'll vote for him any way. He did it all.

Guess I'll jump on to this fast moving Schmidt train. My vote is for Schmidt with as well with an honorable mention to a favorite of mine growing up as a boy - Eddie Matthews.

Third Base... the Hot Corner... tough position... there are quite a few good options, but only one great option... Mike Schmidt, the best at the hot corner, he was a marvel, being the steady power hitter that kept the Phillies in the hunt for many years... Being a Pirate fan, I can remember way too many games that he beat my beloved Pirates... and worse yet number 500 was against my boys... that goofy fist pumping dance... ugh
