Vote For Your Favorite Rock Song - THE FINALS!!!!

This journey that started on August 17th when I started this blog has now whittled its way from about 2000 songs down to 2 songs.   During that time I've made alot of e-contacts and e-friends and I wish to thank everyone who has helped out in this near 7 month endeavor.   I want to personally thank the following posters who were there and voted in my very first entry on August 17 who still actively vote here and seldom if ever missed a vote.   First, thank you Muffin Man, you broke the cherry of this blog way back in the As.  KidDude123 was the second to cast a vote and I don't believe he's missed a vote since.  Posters who were also came along on my maiden voyage and have voted many if not every time were MandoTime, jonnyteach, vegab, D2Moo, JohnOdin and Markstaff.   I want to also thank you frequent posters who came along during the journey afterwards and contributed consistenly such as goodfellas, sfrye4585, IGetNoRespect (you got mine brudda), Rhino3434, Valpo-Domer, Bluesman24, epozz, DomN8_onD, Canacorn, misterjbq, freebirdmaw, Section_725, ClevelandRocks, DeadheadTrea, No_Name (you helped improve this blog), colts13, KBrown, jmw10, ponie02, UncleFester, thatcobra, t-rock-atx, BuccinGator, GolfCoward, nine5seven, darkness132, Steeler3, edwardsfan99, mfarley51, silver, scullcracker, Conquistador1, journey819, hockeydad55, MajorEReckshun, BadgerinMaine, ToddinNC, Happy4Jets and iamyo.  There are more of you and I apologize for leaving you off.  The so called "improvements" that CBS has instituted in the past 2 months have driven some of my friends away.  I'm glad many of you have decided to stay.

Oh yeah, I guess you wanna know what two songs its down to.  The final 4 had 4 hard hitting songs, but the final tallies weren't all that close.

Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin defeated Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd 25-13

Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who defeated Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen 22-17.

So the finals features the following match-up of 1 seed songs...

Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin  vs.  Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who

Voting will go until 12 midnight Sunday March 15th.   On Monday Morning March 16, I'll post the winner in a new blog entry.   Enjoy the vote ladies and gentlemen and again, this has been fun.

Grrr...  Sign me up for the misunderstood lyrics website.  I shoulda known better.  One of my favorites is Jimi Hendrix's Kiss the Sky.  People mistake it as excuse me while I kiss this guy.  Yikes.

It was hard down the stretch to actually vot against so many great songs, but Stairway to Heaven, edges out Wont Get Fooled Again, by a hair.

Vote For Your Favorite Rock Song - THE FINALS!!!!

Holy moly this one is tough.  I voted for the two losers in the last round.   I was in a dance chorus in high school and actually sung solo parts to Stairway to Heaven.  So that song has always been close to my heart.   Even with that being said, I'm just a bigger fan to this particular Who song.   Won't Get Fooled Again is their best song, IMO and hits it best with the combo of lyrics and instrumental.    In a tough decision I'm going with Won't Get Fooled Again.

Thanks back to you Lazer for bringing a solid blog to this site.  This is like a great mini-series that demands some sort of a sequel.   Good job and way to hang with it.

Vote For Your Favorite Rock Song - THE FINALS!!!!

Well, this one wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. In the Final Four I picked Freebird over Stairway To Heaven in the power ballad battle but it could have gone either way but on the 2nd match up I went with Bohemian Rhapsody over Won't Get Fooled Again as my clear favorite.  Since I could have gone either way in that first match up this one is going to go to...

Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin

I have really enjoyed this blog immensely. Not only did the music bring back memories for me but it seemed to bring back memories  for all the posters who were involved. It was fun reading all the comments!

Great Job, Lazer!!!! Keep fighting the good fight! I hope that this isn't the last but one of many more to come!!!!

Stairway to Heaven takes the cake, I can't think of a more recognizable rock n' roll anthem.

Both songs are really good, so its a close pick for me, but in my mind Wont get fooled again is a bit better.
