The New York Daily News reports that the Giants-Jets bid to host Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014 is looking more likely to happen.
The NFL owners are set to vote on the Super Bowl host on May 25. The Daily News reports that Giants CEO and co-owner John Mara said they need just 15 more votes for New York to win the vote, and Patriots owner Robert Kraft is apparently on board to vote for the Big Apple.
Tampa and South Florida are both in the running against New York, but are trailing in support.

According to a report in the Philadelphia Daily News , the Eagles recently welcomed former Colts cornerback Marlin Jackson for a visit, with designs on signing him as a safety.
The story claims the chance of Jackson being signed to an Eagles contract by Wednesday are "pretty good" despite other sources claiming Jackson will visit the Jets first.
Jackson has had injury troubles for the past two seasons, hurting both of his anterior cruciate ligaments in separate incidents.

The St. Petersburg Times reports that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are actively searching for help at safety, in the wake of free agent Will Allen's departure to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The story notes that the Bucs are interested in meeting with both Gibril Wilson of the Dolphins and Brodney Pool of the Browns.
Pool is currently visiting teams, including the Rams and the Jets, but has yet to latch on with a new team. The Bucs are reportedly looking to meet with him when his schedule allows.

New York still has two more months to complete its 2014 Super Bowl bid, but the New York push to host the biggest game in sports gained momentum when the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee withdrew its bid, according to the New York Daily News.
New York, Tampa and Miami are the remaining candidates, with bids due May 1 and owners voting on the host city on May 24-26.

The minute Adalius Thomas is released by the Patriots, he could go running into the welcoming arms of rival Rex Ryan and the New York Jets, according to the Boston Herald.
Thomas might be happy to leave a coach who sent him home for being a few minutes late to a team meeting during a snow storm last fall.

The New York Daily News reports that the timetable for New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez to return from left knee surgery is still undetermined.
The story noted that the Jets were non-specific about when Sanchez would be back, other than saying he would be ready for the start of July training camp.
The surgery will happen in a couple of weeks, and is aimed at helping correct an injury Sanchez suffered in 2008, while still playing college ball.
