Hello all you baseball fans. So I was thinking that I spend pretty much around 2 hours on these posts. I seem to have nobody really looking at this. So I would like some feedback. I will not do one this week. If you would like me to continue on these blog posts I will. If I get 4 people saying they want me to continue I will. So if you would like me to continue this blog then just comment saying that you like it and would like me to keep doing it.

Hello again baseball fans. We saw a not so good week 9. The Mariners went 3-4 this week. The Mariners beat the Twins in a 4 game series. Then the Mariners where home against the Angels and got swept. So this week did not help the Mariners at all in the standings. The Mariners are still dead last by a lot of games. It is getting to the point where I think the Mariners are pretty much done this year. On June 2 Ken Griffey Jr retired. He decided to call it quits on the same day he signed his first contract. A sad time for Mariner fans as a legend is done. We can all hope for the best of Griffey. He will be considered as a hall of famer.
The Mariners player of this week goes to Jose Lopez. This guy hit a amazing 10 for 30 with 4 runs, 2 home runs, and 10 RBI's. That is amazing. Jose Lopez made the biggest difference with our scoring this week. Jose lite up the Mariners. He might be the hottest player right now. Every game except for 1 he got at least 1 hit. That is 6 out of 7 games with a hit. As far as the rest of the Mariners players they have all done great this week but Jose Lopez deserves the player of the week. A honorable mention goes to Ichiro as he does great this week hitting a milestone with 1000 runs. He also got 1 RBI in 5 games this week. He also got 5 runs for the Mariners. I think Ichiro has been a big part of the 3 wins we have had this week. Jose Lopez has been the guy in week 9.
As far as cold players this week it does not go to the hitters. This award goes to the bullpen who have lost two games for the Mariners this week. The Mariners bullpen has been terrible the whole season but on saturday they allowed 10 total runs! That is terrible. On saturday the Mariners had a great game pitching by Ryan Rowland Smith. He went 5 innings and only allowed 1 run. Guess what happens. First Garrett Olson comes in and allows 3 runs and only got 1 out then Kelley comes in and allows another 5. That ruined the game for the Mariners. Also on sunday it was a 4-4 game in the 7th and Shawn Kelley comes in and gives up 2 runs on the home run. It is these kind of things that have lost games for us. Our bullpen is responsible for about 10 of our losses this year.
This week did not really have a game of the week since none of them really hit me as exiting. So I will say that the Mariners are pretty much out of any talk of making it to the playoffs or maybe even finishing in third place. The best thing the Mariners can do right now is trade Cliff Lee and try to get a hitter and some prospects out of Cliff. If we can do that then next year we can focus on hitting if we just has one hitter who we can rely on since right now nobody can be relied on. Chone Figgins and Don Wakumatsu both got ejected sunday for talking back to the umps. If anybody is wondering Chone Figgins said something bad about the ump and then he got ejected. Don Wakumatsu tried to defend Chone and got ejected too. The Mariners need to do something about their team for years to come. Our starting pitching is fine, bullpen is terrible, hitting is ok but needs to improve. Lets hope for a better week 10. We are going on a road trip starting with Texas.

Hello all you baseball fans. We are through with week 8 of the Seattle Mariners. The Seattle Mariners did fairly good this week going 3-2 this week. We beat Detriot both games we played them and we did really good in those games. The Mariners bullpen did great in both games with a save by David Aardsma in both games. Then the Mariners went to the Angels house and beat them in game one with a strong outing. Then we lost to more to them in both those games the Mariners bullpen was just not performing. In each of those games the Angels got a walk off home run. Aardsma blew the save on the sunday game. The Mariners need more weeks like this.
In game one of the Detroit and Mariners game the pitchers where Verlander and Doug Fister. The Mariners got 2 runs early in the first. Then the Tigers got 2 in the second. Then in the sixth each team got 1. It was 3-3. In the 8th inning the Mariners scored 2 runs off the Chone Figgins double and then a Franklin Guiterez walk. Miltion Bradley came through and blasted one to right. As far as pitching for the Mariners. Doug Fister went 7 innings, gave up 9 hits and only 2 earned runs (3 runs). Then Shawn Kelley came in and held the Tigers to no more runs. David Aardsma came in and gave the Mariners the save striking out 1 guy. After the game Miltion Bradley commented on his hit he said "It was a good feeling. I came through". This was the Mariners game of the Week.
The Mariners hottest player this week award goes to Miltion Bradley. Bradley went 4 for 19 with 1 home run and 6 RBI's. Miltion Bradley really came through for the Mariners and ignited the Mariners to give them the win in game 1. From the start of the season to right now Bradley has improved so much. He still can do better but for us Mariner fans he is doing great. Also I give a honorable mention to Josh Wilson. He gave us the great 2 RBI hit in game 2 of the Tiger game. Josh Wilson has done great lately. He is one of our stars right now.
The Mariners coldest player goes to Chone Figgins. He has gone 3 for 13 this week with no RBI's. This guy has not looked like the guy we need this year. He has not batted like a number 2 guy. In my opinion I think Don Wakamatsu should put Jose Lopez in the 2 spot and put Chone Figgins in the 9 spot behind Ichiro. That would make him perform better than 199 batting average. We can all hope Chone Figgins starts to heat up and send some sparks to the Mariners.
The Mariners best pitching performance this week was the pitching done by Felix Hernandez. He pitched 8 innings with only 1 earned run, 6 hits, and a outstanding 7 strikeouts. Felix really needed this kind of game. Felix was in a no decision and then Brandon League gave up the walk off grand slam. It makes me sick that the Mariners can get no run support to give our pitchers better chances to win. Felix has not been very good lately and with this good of a outing I bet he wished he could have got the win. Also Cliff Lee did a great job in the second game of the Tigers going 8 innings only 2 earned runs (3 runs) and 4 hits. He struck out a 10 hitters. He did outstanding. Cliff Lee was awarded the win.
In my words I think this week was a pretty good week for them. Better than usual. Ian Snell came out for his second start this year and did fairly good. He went 4 innings and only gave up 3 earned runs with 4 hits and 4 walks. I think Ian Snell has done so much better than Ryan Rowland Smith. I still can not wait for Erik Berdard to come back and hopefully give us some wins. After we trade Cliff Lee we will need Erik to hopefully fill in for Cliff Lee. All us Mariner fans can hope for another good week for the Mariners.

Hello all you baseball fans we are in week 7 of the Seattle Mariners. This week the Mariners went 2-5 not a very good week for the Mariners. In this section I will talk about the Mariners hottest player of the Week and the Mariners coldest players of this week. Our bullpen this week killed the Mariners allowing a lot of runs that should not have been given up. The Mariners best win this week was May 21 and the Mariners beat the Padres 15-8.
The Mariners hottest player of the week award goes to Mike Sweeny. This guy has lit up the bats for the Mariners this week going 8 for 19 with an amazing 8 RBI's 2 home runs and 3 walks. In the game verse the Padres that was 15-8 he hit 2 home runs. He was unstoppable this week. I hope he can continue his very hot bat and lead the Mariners to some more wins next week. A honorable mention goes out to Josh Bard. He went 5 for 15 this week with a home run and 4 RBI's. He also played very good defense something Rob Johnson has not done lately. Did you know that the Mariners have allowed more passed balls than any other team in baseball.
Our coldest player of this week goes to Franklin Gutierrez. He has hit 4 for 23 this week with only 1 RBI. Franklin usually is outstanding but this week his bat was just not going like it usually does. Franklin did not look on this week. He allowed to many pitches to go by. The Mariners have not been swing the bat the whole year. They look at way to many pitches. Especially on the 3-0 pitch the ball is going to come right down the middle because the pitcher is looking to get a strike to not walk the batter but the Mariners always let it go by for a strike.
In my words this week was a bad week for the Mariners. This year the Mariners have been bad but the Mariners have done a little bit better than this week. The Mariners only good game was the Padre game and the rest were not so good. The Mariners biggest problem so far this season is their relief pitching. They need to buckle their seat belts and stop allowing runs. If the Mariners do not start winning they could be out of this thing pretty fast. Also the Mariners starting pitching did not look that good this week except for Doug Fister and Ian Snell. Ian Snell did great in his starting pitching debut going 5 innings and only giving up 1 run.

Hello all you baseball fans. This is my first blog about the Seattle Mariners. In this special edition blog I will bring you all the info you need to know about week 1-6 about the Seattle Mariners. I would like to start out by saying thank you for tuning in to my blog and I will do this every sunday of the week but this one is a special edition because I am starting out late.
So we have not done very good in the Mariners first 6 weeks. We are 15-26. This is not good the Mariners have many problems that need to be fixed. First off the Mariners hitting has been very bad this far in the season. The Mariners average about 2-3 runs every game. That will not win the Mariners games and it has not. The Mariners starting pitchers are amazing and will usually give you at least a quality start. Our starting five as of May 16 is Felix Hernandez, Ian Snell, Cliff Lee, Doug Fister, Justin Fargas. As you know Ryan Rowland Smith has been doing terrible lately so The Mariners decided to give Ian Snell a second try. All Mariners fans can hope Ian can perform well.
Lets get back to hitting. The Mariners have been doing terrible hitting in the first 6 weeks. The Mariners picked up Chone Figgins, Casey Kotchman, and Milton Bradley in the off season. Chone Figgins has been hitting under 200 which is bad considering he averages something like 300 for his career. Casey Kotchman is also hitting under 200 which is very bad. Milton Bradley was 1-21 in his first 21 at bats but has been heating up lately. As you know we re-signed Ken Griffey Jr, he has been doing terrible this far taking naps in the dugout, hitting 184, and not being a leader. If he wants to play in Seattle he should show some effort instead of taking naps. We dropped Eric Byrnes, he was doing terrible. There was one play where they were trying to do a suicide squeeze and Ichiro was on third and Eric Byrnes pulled back the bunt. That is not what a MLB player should do. For about the past week the Mariners have been doing a lot better hitting. Could this be the start of something good?
Another thing I would like to tell you about is our bullpen. First off our closer David Aardsma has already blown two saves in the first 6 weeks. That is two wins the Mariners should have right now. As far as everybody else they have done terrible. The Mariners starting pitchers will do great and then our relief pitchers will come in and give up a extra 2 to 3 runs. That is terrible the bullpen is responsible for about 8 of our losses that the Mariners should have right now. The Mariners have made to many mistakes thus far in the season. As far as not bunting on a suicide squeeze to not catching the ball to making stupid bloopers. If the Mariners do not do something now then they will be out of the A.L west race soon.

So we all know that the Boston Red Sox is doing very bad lately. I would like to tell you what they need to do. Well their biggest problem right now is their bullpen. They have been in many close games and in those games their bullpens give up too much runs. Papelpon is giving up way to much runs for a closer. The Red Sox need to sit him and give him some time to think what he is doing wrong and then play him to see what he can do. As far as the rest of the bullpen they are not that good. They need to strap down and do their jobs by not giving up so many runs.
Their second problem is their starting pitchers. Lets face it most Red Sox games have been pretty high scores and now with Josh Beckett on the DL this creates many more problems. Dice K needs to start to be the Red Sox's guy. He has not done that lately. After all his injury's you can not expect him to do amazing but that is what the Red Sox need. Even when Josh Beckett was in he was not that good but he was their best pitcher. That is telling you something about their starting pitchers. Jon Lester is right now their guy who is giving them the most opportunities to win.
Their third problem is the way they are not competing. I think their hitting is very good but are not showing it. Every game to them is just another game. That is not the way the hitters should show up. They need to think of every game as an huge game. Once this happens the Red Sox will start to do better. Kevin Youkillis is their only player who seems to show up every single game. Kevin is a dedicated guy who is dedicated to winning. The Red Sox are going through problems right now and they can over come them but will they?
