VOD 05/02/12: Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide.

Verse:

Acts 24:16
And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men. (KJV)

Thought:

The conscience is God’s built-in warning system. It lets us know when maybe we should or shouldn’t do something. If you are doing anything that isn’t proper, be very glad when it bothers you and very sad and concerned when it doesn’t. It is that positive energy that keeps us on the right track and helps us  live a life that is ethical, and trustworthy.  A person with no conscience is a person who has no soul. Think and do good things when interacting with people and God will interact with you.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit live within us and cleanse us of impure thoughts and emotions. Let it become our first reaction to think well of others and treat them with all due respect and courtesy. Always have us to live our lives that is in accordance with the lessons to be found in Your Word. May our conscience be our guide.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to one and all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and wonder-filled day.

May God Bless,

VOD 05/01/12: It Takes Give And Take.

Verse:

Romans 14:19
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. (KJV)

Thought:

This scripture can be used to describe any relationship, whether it be friendship, marriage, or business…even world governments. To have the ability to give and take when it comes to advice or constructive criticism to and from a partner is an asset that you can’t place a price on. We must always keep an eye on the future and work with others in order for our goals to be accomplished. As long as both parties are working together for the good, God will find a way to make them successful.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Spirit give us the humbleness to be open to improvement of who we are. Give us the knowledge and wisdom to influence others for their betterment and the betterment of our relationship. As long as we are working together for the common good of all, help us reach a successful conclusion to our efforts.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 04/30/12: So Far, And Yet, So Near.

Verse:

Ecclesiastes 11:5
As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. (KJV)

Thought:

One of the hardest things that we, as humans, hate to admit is…’I don’t know’, but when thinking about God and His ways, that's really all we can say. We know about God only what He in His grace has chosen to reveal to us. He is the Mystery of mysteries. What we do know of Him though, what He has revealed to us in Jesus, is not only mighty and amazing, but loving, kind, and merciful. For having such a vast distance between Him and us, He is as approachable as only a true Father can be.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit show us how we may close the distance between us. When we consider the universe, we are humbled at the extent of Your realm but, at the same time, we treasure Your closeness. You are a good far above all we know, but as a Father who is near. Thank You for being accessible and approachable.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 04/29/12: Know How Special You Are.

Verse:

Psalms 139:14
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. (KJV)

Thought:

I am made by God. You are made by God. Just as surely as anything has been made by God, we have been made by God. He knew us before anyone knew we existed. He had plans for us before anyone planned our arrival. He made us well. He has seen us through hard times. He has always been there for us in our greatest times of need. How do we know this? Look at everything around you. To see all of the wondrous beauty of the universe, how can anyone question that it was made by Him?

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit fill us with awe as we witness Your glorious creation. We understand that You knew us before we were born. Thank You for choosing to give us life. Thank You for giving us the gifts, abilities, and talents that You have given us. Now help us live as if we were made special by You, because we are.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 04/28/12: Be Straightforward And Sincere.

Verse:

Matthew 5:37
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. (KJV)

Thought:

‘Yes’ and ‘no’ are two of the few words that can never be misunderstood. Confusion can set in with the addition of another little three letter word, ‘but’, or by using the word ‘maybe’. ‘Yes, but…’, ‘No, but…” or ‘Maybe…’ are not definitive answers. These are only examples. What the scripture is saying is to speak straightforward with what is on your mind. Don’t be a politician. Say what you mean with honesty and sincerity so there can be no misunderstanding of your intents and purposes.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit instill in us the honesty to communicate with others so that there is no misunderstanding our intentions. Take from us any inclination to speak in a deceptive way. Let us always be straightforward and sincere, thereby establishing trust from our friends, family, and those we meet on a daily basis.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 04/27/12: Rejoice Of The Good In Your Life.

Verse:

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (KJV)

Thought:

Some people complain because God put thorns on roses, while others praise Him for putting roses on thorns. The lesson in this scripture is to always be positive minded: an optimist. Looking on the bright side, to quote another adage of wisdom, your glass will always be half full instead of half empty. Not only will you be a better person to be around, but it is also better for your health and well-being. So look for and rejoice of the good and blessed things in your life. You’ll be a happier person.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit allow us to see all the things that we are blessed with. Thank You for all the good things in our life. Let us never forget that, even if things don’t always go as we would like, there are far better things that happen to us. Do not let us dwell on the negative things, but rejoice for the positive in our life.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 04/26/12: Better To Die Than To Live?

Verse:

Ecclesiastes 7:1
A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth. (KJV)

Thought:

This is an interesting scripture. The part about the good name is easily understood. It is better to die with a good name than to live with a bad one. But why is the day of death better than the day of birth? To reach this conclusion, one but has to reflect on their past life and then consider what awaits them in the next life. Looked at in that context, a person can better understand the true meaning of the verse. Life here is no bed of roses and we should look forward to a new life in God’s Kingdom.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord., have Your Holy Spirit help us learn that dying is only the first step to living. We come to You with praise and anticipation of our new lives with You in Your coming Kingdom. We look forward to being able to walk with You in a world where there is no more sorrow or pain. We await the Son to come and take us home.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 04/25/12: Our Leaders Need Prayers Too.

Verse:

1 Timothy 2:1-2
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (KJV)

Thought:

We have not only been told to meet and encourage one another, but now that is expanded to include praying for those in authority over us. I know…It is, and has always been, popular to criticize our employers, law enforcement, and especially our government. But here we are told that we must pray for them; to ask for their guidance, from God, that we may benefit from their leadership. In these troubled times, they need our support even more than ever. So add our leaders in your prayers also.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit remind us to add our leaders into our prayers. We pray for Your instruction and guidance to be given to those that have been placed in positions of authority over us. Give them the sense of justice, fairness, and honesty that is required to be the leaders of society and also the communities we live in.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to one and all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and wonder-filled day.
