VOD 07/11/12: The Day Will Come.

Verse:

Zechariah 14:9
And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. (KJV)

Thought:

Jesus taught us to pray for the day that the LORD would be the recognized king over all the earth. We look forward to that, because our faith will be shown true and the LORD Himself will be glorified as He should be. Those who have spoken out against the Creator of the universe and His Son will be left grievously speechless. In a world of profanity, a world where God's name is blasphemed, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is our LORD, Yahweh, incomparable without rival.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in jour lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit show us how to spread the word of Your return and how to work to bring You glory in these days. Do mighty works that show Your Sovereignty. Help us as we seek to bring others to call on Your name with praise. Have us live our lives so that we may exemplify Your kindness, mercy, and grace.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to one and all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and wonder-filled day.

May God Bless,

VOD 07/10/12: Do You Know What Time It Is?

Verse:

2 Peter 3:8
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. (KJV)

Thought:

Time is an amazing concept. We can only understand time by how we experience it and how it applies to our lives. We know that time is moving but we cannot see it, so we watch the sun rise and set, and we keep track of time with our watches, clocks, and calenders. Our entire life is one span of time, uniquely purposed by God. He created time for us to use wisely. Instead of griping that there is not enough time to accomplish what you wish, use the time you have left here on Earth efficiently.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit show us how to use our allotted time here more efficiently and with more productivity. Let us not waste the time You have so graciously given to us. Let us use what spare time we may have to get to know You better by reading Your word and putting that knowledge to practical use in our lives.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 07/09/12: Life Takes Teamwork.

Verse:

Nehemiah 4:6
So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work. (KJV)

Thought:

Notice in this scripture that it says we built. In any enterprise, teamwork is needed in order for it to succeed. No one person is capable of carrying the entire load. If you find yourself in a position that is exceeding your capabilities, do not be hesitant to ask someone for help. On the other hand, if you see someone struggling with their assigned task, do not be hesitant to offer your assistance to them. Working together, as a team of humanity, we can make this world a far better place in which to live.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit teach us how to communicate better with our fellow man. Do not let us be too proud to ask for help when it is needed. Let us see when others struggle and offer our aid to them. Have us show the meaning of teamwork through our own actions and the offering of encouragement to our workmates.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 07/08/12: Age Is An Overlooked Asset.

Verse:

Titus 2:2-3
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; (KJV)

Thought:

Whether it’s called growing older or getting experienced, it all boils down to the same thing: with age comes wisdom to those that learn from life’s trials and tribulations. An elder person has a lot of accrued knowledge and is anxious to share it with today’s youth. All the younger generation has to do is ask and be willing to learn from others past mistakes in order to keep from making the same mistakes themselves. They will find that their lives will be fuller and more rewarding in the long run.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit open our hearts and minds to the experiences of our elders. Give us every chance to obtain more knowledge, and with that knowledge, wisdom. Allow us the opportunity to share that wisdom with those of less experience and endow them with the patience to accept and put to use the lessons learned.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ...Amen.

VOD 07/07/12: Be Careful What You Pray For.

Verse:

1 Peter 3:12
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. (KJV)

Thought:

God only intervenes in your life if you ask Him to. He knows your needs before you ask but you’ve got to ask because by asking of Him you are acknowledging that He exists and that you trust His judgment in answering your prayers. The answers won’t always be what you want to hear but they will be for your benefit. As long as you go to Him with earnest sincerity, He will respond. But be careful about what you ask for. Depending on if you need a lesson in life, you may get exactly that.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit show us how to pray and what to ask for. When we come to You in prayer, let us do so with humility and sincerity. When we ask of You, let our words not be frivolous but with conviction, asking not for trivial desires but wants of substance. When You do answer, help us to  recognize Your answers.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 07/06/12: Are You Hungry And Thirsty?

Verse:

Proverbs 23:21
For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags. (KJV)

Thought:

Gluttony can cover a wide variety of things, not just food and drink. When you hunger for material things in this life, you loose your appetite for God’s word. When you thirst for the things of this world, you no longer wish to drink from the fountain of truth and wisdom, the Holy Bible. We all need to hunger and thirst for the message of life our Father has given us through His Holy Word.  Do all things here in this life in moderation, leaving time for you to prepare for your next life over there.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, allow Your Holy Spirit to fill our hunger with Your word and quench our thirst with Your teachings. Let us not overindulge in the material offerings of this world. Show us how to set our priorities straight so that we may live a balanced life. May Your Word be an inspiration to all those who wish to live a more righteous life.
We lift our prayers up to you in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen

VOD 07/05/12: Read The Instructions First.

Verse:

Proverbs 4:13
Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. (KJV)

Thought:

Every appliance, kit, and tool comes with a set of instructions on the proper operational procedures. How many times have you unsuccessfully attempted to operate something, only to have to refer back to the instructions? Do you honestly think our Father would have placed us here without an operating manual? It’s called the Bible. In it are instructions from what foods are healthy for us; how to amicably interact with our fellow man; right up to finding comfort in a personal relationship with Him.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit open our hearts and our minds to see and understand what we read in Your instructional manual for mankind, the Holy Bible. Show us how to follow Jesus’ teachings and become the people You meant us to be. Let us show others through our own actions and conduct how to live a fulfilling life in You.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 03/12/10: Which Would You Rather Be?

Verse:

Matthew 23:12
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. (KJV)

Thought:

Who do you respect more: a braggart that boasts a lot but produces little, or a quiet, humble man that gets the job done? Which one would you be more inclined to promote if they worked for you? If both gave different answers to a question, which one do you think would closer to the truth of the matter? Which one would you feel more comfortable with handling your hard earned assets? Why talk the talk when it is so much more impressive to simply walk the walk? Which would you rather be?

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit give us the reserve and determination to accomplish what needs to be done. May we complete our assigned tasks and accomplish them with dignity and humility. Keep us humble as to our abilities, knowing that all we are is because of who You have made us and may we accept praise with grace.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.
