VOD 06/24/12: Eat, Drink, And Be Merry.

Verse:

Ecclesiastes 8:15
Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun. (KJV)

Thought:

‘Eat, drink, and be merry.’ This is good, sound reasoning on how to live life but how many have taken it to the extreme and changed it to ‘Party Hardy!’? God wants us to enjoy the fruits of our labors and find the humor in everyday life, but He also wants us to remember where everything comes from. He wants His children to be happy and gives to those who give Him thanks. Eat, drink, and be merry; but do so responsibly, in due moderation, and you will be rewarded with a fuller, richer life.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit fill us with the joy of living as was Your intention from the beginning. Thank You for all that You have given us in this life and may we always receive Your gifts with appreciation and use them with responsibility, in moderation, and to further Your glorification with the proper recognition and praise.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to one and all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and wonder-filled day.

May God Bless,

VOD 06/23/12: Look Around, And Help Others.

Verse:

Acts 20:35
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. (KJV)

Thought:

What we get for our labors allows us to make a living for ourselves. What we give to those less fortunate allows us to make a life for ourselves and others.  Whenever we help another, they too will help another in their time of need, and so forth. Our Lord Jesus gave His life for our welfare. What He is asking of us is to look around and have compassion for those in need and help lighten their load whenever we possibly can. Remember, He said that whatsoever you do for the least, you do for Him.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit make us aware of those around us that need help and instruct us on the best way to come to their aid and ease their burdens. Do not allow us to become so absorbed with ourselves that we overlook the plight of others. Teach us the compassion for others that You so graciously show towards ourselves.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to one and all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and wonder-filled day.

VOD 06/27/10: Stay Strong And Be Committed.

Verse:

Proverbs 24:10
If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. (KJV)

Thought:

A person’s character and the strength of their will and beliefs can easily be measured by how well they stand up to opposition. To be discouraged by adversity speaks of being weak-willed and uncommitted. If you truly believe in something, stand up for it and don’t back down. The Christ Jesus did not waver from His beliefs even when faced with death. Follow His example and stay true to yourself. You will be more thought of and respected and will feel better about yourself and your life.

Prayer:

Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit give us the courage and determination to handle all that life has in store for us. Let us face adversity as Your Son Jesus did; with resolute, commitment, strength, and courage. May the inner strength and resolve You give us be an inspiration for others who have problems of their own in this life to follow.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 06/21/12: Let Your Actions Glorify Him.

Verse:

Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (KJV)

Thought:

Who you are to other people is what they see you do, not what they hear you say. Anybody can talk a good game, but it is the ones who put that talk into actions that people look up to and respect the most. To be a leader is to lead by example. Teach those which do not know and do what you would ask of others. Show, by example, how one should conduct themselves when interacting with others in all phases of your life. Have your actions be those which place the LORD first and you will shine.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit fill us with the will to do Your will, and in so doing, show an example of Your magnificence. Let us not contradict that which we speak with that which we do. Help us to stay true to Your Word by following in the footsteps of our Savior. May all that we do be a reflection of Your grace and glory.
We lift our prayers up to you in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 06/20/12: Do You Want To Live?

Verse:

Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. (KJV)

Thought:

The people that are the poorest are not the ones without a penny to their name but the ones that go through life without a dream or hope. Without faith, we are like chaff blowing back and forth in the wind; groundless, rootless, and with no future. It is those without faith that live without hope and go through life without the prospect of a better tomorrow. By studying God’s Word and living by His precepts, a person has the hope of better times and the dream of living forever in His kingdom.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit give us the strength and faith to persevere in the face of growing troubles. Let us never lose sight of things to come which includes a rewarding future in Your kingdom for those who follow Your will. May we live our lives according to Your commandments and be an inspiration for others to follow.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 06/19/12: He Will Take Care Of You.

Verse:

1 Peter 5:7
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (KJV)

Thought:

Here, again, we find a small verse with a big message. In today’s atmosphere, there are some instances that in the past would have been considered minor inconveniences but are now major situations. God tells us that no matter the size, to cast all our cares on Him and He will see us through. If our cares are too small to be turned over to Him in prayer, then they are too small to be a burden to us. Go to Him and ask for His intercession and He will assist you in your time of need.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit continually remind us of Your compassion and willingness to help in our times of need. We lay before You our concerns and ask for Your considerate intercession where You see fit. We realize that we have not met Your expectations and ask for You forgiveness, Your compassion, and Your mercy.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 02/23/10: We Are All Part Of The Plan.

Verse:

Romans 12:3
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. (KJV)

Thought:

For some people, the hardest secret for them to keep is their opinion of themselves. Who you are is how you have utilized your God-given talents and display yourself to others. Everyone has different attributes according to His plan for them in the overall scheme of things. Do not boast yourself above anyone else because we are all fulfilling God’s will for us in one way or another. Each and every one of us is playing a crucial role in His master plan for His future kingdom on Earth as well as in heaven.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit allow us to see ourselves for whom we are and to be grateful that You have included us as a part of Your master plan. Let us not be too considerate of who we are in comparison to others. As we are all in this together, may we always strive to improve ourselves as well as the lives of  those we meet.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 06/17/12: Being Humble Shows Godliness.

Verse:

2 Timothy 2:16
But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. (KJV)

Thought:

Profanity and bluster: Attempts by a person to exhibit, verbally, what they lack physically or mentally (Psychology 101). A person confident in themselves and who they are does not need to lower their esteem with swearing and bravado. It is strictly for shock effect and a show of power they wish they had. True power belongs to only One. Recognizing that power leads to humility. Humility leads to godliness. Godliness leads to an eternal life with our heavenly Father in His coming kingdom.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives.. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit, which lives within us, show us how we may communicate with others without feeling the need to offend. Give us the confidence and self-esteem that comes with knowing we are the children of the most almighty God. Show us how to ready ourselves to join You in Your coming heavenly kingdom.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.
